Edgerrin James Released by Seahawks

Edgerrin James, the running back who used to be one of the best players at his position in the NFL, was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. James played in a backup role in Seattle but his production just wasn’t up to par.
In seven games, James had 46 rushes for only 125 yards — or an average of 2.7 yards per rush. He also had three receptions for 19 yards. The 31-year-old didn’t have a touchdown for the Seahawks.
In the offseason, James was let go by the Arizona Cardinals after playing with the Cardinals for four seasons. Before joining …read more

Anquan Boldin Injury Update – Ankle

During Week 6 of the 2009 NFL season, Anquan Boldin got injured in the second quarter in the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Seattle Seahawks. Boldin returned to play in the third quarter, but then left again after the Cardinals built a big lead.
After not practicing on Wednesday, Boldin was again off the practice field on Thursday. However, he did some work on the side and the Cardinals are hopeful that he can participate in Friday’s practice. If he practices on Friday, there’s a very good chance that he’ll play in the Week 7 contest that has the …read more

Seahawks’ Tatupu Out for the Season

The Seattle Seahawks have already had their fair share of injuries so far this season. And they were dealt another big blow on Sunday when middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu tore his left pectoral muscle in a 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
After the game, Seahawks coach Jim Mora said that three-time Pro Bowler Tatupu would need surgery and miss the rest of the season. It appeared Tatupu was injured in the second quarter while tackling Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
Despite not playing in the second half, Tatupu still had a team-high eight tackles against the Cardinals. Seattle also played the …read more

Matt Hasselbeck Injury Update – Probable

It’s looking more and more like Matt Hasselbeck will play this weekend for the Seattle Seahawks. On Friday, Hasselbeck practiced for the third straight day and reports indicate that he looked relatively healthy. As of now, the Seahawks are listing their starting quarterback as probable.
Is Seahawks head coach Jim Mora surprised that Hasselbeck has been able to recover from a broken rib so quickly?
“No, I’m not surprised,” said Mora. “Matt is a very tough man, physically and mentally.”
Before getting hurt, Hasselbeck had a strong start to the 2009 NFL season. In Week 1 against the St. Louis Rams, Hasselbeck passed …read more

Edgerrin James to Sign with the Seahawks

Edgerrin James has reportedly signed with the Seattle Seahawks. The signing is expected to become official in the next day or two, reported ESPN.
After spending the last few seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, it has taken James a while to find work this offseason. Apparently, he’s found a team that is willing to give him a chance.
This signing is a bit of a surprise since the Seahawks had a trio of running backs that many thought would carry the load in Julius Jones, T.J. Duckett and Justin Forsett. The addition of James means that at least one of the three …read more

Possible NFL Destinations for Michael Vick

Michael Vick is officially out of jail. While the NFL isn’t in his immediate future, it’s time to start figuring out where he may ultimately end up. He’s not returning to the Atlanta Falcons but a number of other teams may be interested.
What are the top destinations for Michael Vick? Here is our top five:
1) San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers need a quarterback and head coach Mike Singletary should be able to handle the Vick distractions.
2) Seattle Seahawks
Matt Hasselbeck isn’t getting any younger and Vick could take his time in getting ready to return to the field.
3) St. Louis Rams
The Rams …read more

2009 NFL Draft: Seahawks Pick Aaron Curry

Regardless of whether or not he’s a good player, Aaron Curry is a good person. He got me a little choked up, actually, when he was picked. Oh, and did you know that the kid with him is a leukemia patient from St. Jude’s? That’s just awesome. You can really tell that Curry’s first concern is providing for his family, and he credited his mom with giving him everything to make this career possible.
#4 2009 Draft Pick – Aaron Curry, OLB, Wake Forest
Let’s talk about his abilities though – he’s solid. I agree with what the experts have been saying …read more

Matt Hasselbeck in College

This weekend is thought by many to be the most exciting weekend in football. Of course, there aren’t any college games going on – it is all about the NFL playoffs. (*Insert debate about college ball needing a playoff system here*) I thought it would be fun to look back on the top 8 teams’ quarterbacks. What were they like in college?

Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle
Hasselbeck was a Boston College player, originally drafted during the 6th round by the Green Bay Packers. BC was in a bit of a rebuilding stage at this time, with new coach Tom O’Brien at the …read more
