You didn’t think it was over just because the team relocated did you? Well, if you did, you’re wrong. The Seattle SuperSonics fans are still following through with their lawsuits and various threats against owner Clay Bennett who moved the franchise to Oklahoma City. Since it’s almost unthinkable that a judge would force the team to move back to Seattle, these fans are seeking free tickets for the next two seasons in Oklahoma City.
Oklahoma City uni watch

The creative Uni Watch Web site, which appears on ESPN’s Page 2, just finished up their contest for designing a uniform for the new Oklahoma City basketball team. It seems that readers were very creative in designing a new look for the recently relocated Seattle Sonics.
My personal favorite design did not win Uni Watch’s overall design contest, but it did finish first in the ‘Best Tornadic Design’ division. This design had to be the most creative overall, using country music star Toby Keith as the logo.
Not everyone used a computer to create their designs, such as this entry - or this one.
The funniest design division were those entries that let their thoughts be known on the relocation of the team, like this one.
Not a bad overall contest and I always love looking at as many entries as possible. Yes, even the bad ones.
S.O.S. - Sonics outta Seattle

The Seattle Supersonics are no more. The organization has announced that the team will be moving to Oklahoma City. It’s really a shame. I hate to hear about teams that have moved cities, especially when you hear stories from diehard fans. Many fans tried to save the team, however, it did not work and now Seattle is without an NBA franchise for the first time in 41 years.
There are enough memories for Sonics fans to hold onto - like that one championship, remembering when Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton were dominant, and getting a glimpse of a future star in Kevin Durant.
Here’s to the Seattle basketball fan. Let your voice be heard one last time.
Microsoft CEO Attempts to Buy the Supersonics, Update Team to New Version that Everybody Hates Making Everybody Wish They Still Had the Old Version

The Seattle Supersonics might not be doomed to move to Oklahoma City. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is part of a group attempting to purchase the franchise, with the intention of keeping them in the Pacific Northwest. Of course, the team isn’t technically “for sale.” But as any good Microsoft CEO, Ballmer knows everyone has a price.
The report, citing anonymous sources, said Seattle leaders are hoping the offer will convince state legislators to pass the expansion package to keep the Sonics from moving to owner Clay Bennett’s hometown of Oklahoma City.
Ballmer’s group proposes to cover half the cost of the stadium expansion, the report said, and the 50-50 split would beat anything put on the table by the Sonics ownership.
Bennett, however, has said often that the Sonics aren’t for sale. The proposal, which comes in the final days of the Legislature session, may share the fate of similar proposals in recent years that have come up late, the report said.
“They do the same thing every year. They come in at the last minute,” said House Majority Leader Lynn Kessler, D-Hoquiam. “I don’t see it happening.”
So, basically, this isn’t going to happen and the new Word still blows. Great.
