ZOMG! Doom RPG gets sequel
I tried so hard to get a copy of Doom RPG on my mobile, but to no avail. When news of a sequel for Doom RPG was announced in this year’s QuakeCon, I didn’t know if I was going to jump for joy or hit my head on the hardest surface I could find.
I may not be an über-nerd that can find a way to run any application on any gadget, but I’m still a nerd capable of getting things done with a little research. But Doom RPG? I just can’t. The idea of not being able to get it …read more

Condemned 2 video looks worse for wear in a good way
I’m looking forward to Condemned 2 because the original was awesome. It’s not exactly a “shooter” in a strict sense because getting and using guns isn’t exactly as easy as picking it up like in other FPSes. Condemned was more about the melee and the atmosphere. Its mood was sheer perfection.
What is the sequel like? More of the same, and hopefully even some more. Enjoy the crimson splatters.
I can’t say I enjoyed the voice acting for Ethan Thomas. Quite distracting, really. I just hope I won’t hear much from him while playing the game.
MTV asks if you want a sequel to Portal
Yes, Portal is awesome. Yahtzee loves it. I love it. Everyone loves it. Thus, MTV asks the inevitable question: do you want a sequel?
If you asked a game publisher, they would naturally say yes. If you asked any gamer who knows Portal, they might say yes. If you asked me, I would say no.
Can’t we just leave an excellent game alone? Must we look for a sequel and just end up disappointed that its successors got worse at each outing?
Sure, a sequel may address some of Portal’s flaws. A sequel could also totally destroy it. No, I don’t want a …read more
New Command & Conquer FPS in the works?
Here’s a surprise: according to VideoGamesBlogger, a Command & Conquer FPS game is coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. The game is called Tiberium, and is said to be set 11 years after the end of the third Tiberium war.
A C&C FPS? This game has to be a sequel to Renegade.
Tiberium is said to be a mix between Ghost Recon Advance Warfighter, Battlefield, and Rainbow Six Vegas. If this were the case, the result would probably have vehicles and tactical elements. Would Tiberium be in first-person or third person? I can’t really say. Perhaps a third-person POV is …read more
GC 2007: Operation Flashpoint sequel video—in-game or not?
There’s another FPS coming to town, and what better venue to show off the latest trailer than the 2007 Leipzig Games Convention in Germany? The game: Operation Flashpoint 2. It’s not exactly new since it’s a sequel, and it was also announced four years ago, but you know what I mean.
If you haven’t heard of the original, then shame on you. The original Operation Flashpoint was a tactical shooter set in the Cold War. Did I mention it had great reviews? The sequel, however, looks like a different beast altogether.
Name F.E.A.R. 2, visit Monolith’s studios
Great news, F.E.A.R. fans! There’s going to be a sequel to your favorite FPS, and you get to name it. According to Monolith, the game’s developer, it will accept submissions from June 4th to June 27th—a mere 23 days. During this time, you’ll have to think of a name that somehow reminds you of the original title, yet not use the same name because of some legal technicality.
The prize is a fanboy’s wet dream: an all-expense paid trip to Monolith to meet the development team and tour the facilities. Yawn. I was hoping of something in the lines of …read more
