Software vs. Service

With the recent changes mentioned at Microsoft and Ray Ozzie beginning to take over the reigns from Bill Gates. Microsoft’s products will begin to take on more of a service mentality than the software mentality that’s built Microsoft to what it is today. But what’s the big difference?
