Shanda (Shanda Interactive Entertainment Limited) has ropped in Donald Chan, previously National Managing Director (China) for Leo Burnett Shanghai Advertising Company, to head the online gaming company’s new in-game advertising business and become its Senior Vice President altogether.

Shanda China and Web On, a Korea game developer, had entered an agreement to operate FreeJack, an online free-running game in China, Hong Kong and Macao. The sports game can spot youngsters running free-style from building to building, rooftop to rooftop and almost anywhere-to-anywhere you can think of. These type of sports game are getting hotter in China as the Beijing Olympics is drawing nearer.

In Japan, voice acting or seiyu (声优)work is big business. Many voice actors and actresses are regarded as shining idols in Japan. Houko Kuwashima, capable of doing voice acting for young boys, old men to kawaii girls and feminine women, is the voice role for Kasumi, again, in Dead or Alive Online (A DOA online game by Tecmo Japan and Shanda China). Dead or Alive Online (DOA Online) is a collaboration between Shanda, an established China online gaming company, and Tecmo, a veteran Japanese developer. The Tecmo team, including the producer and project manager of DOA Online, was at ChinaJoy 2007, Shanghai, China, to answer some pressing questions about the game from DOA fans and gamers.
