E3 may have just ended and with a lack of booth babes. But not the on-going ChinaJoy 2008 (the Chinese equivalent of E3) at Shanghai (17th to 19th July).
The video shows the booth babes of Shanda and we can see you can’t use your both hands (and probably legs) to count them all.

In Japan, voice acting or seiyu (声优）work is big business. Many voice actors and actresses are regarded as shining idols in Japan. Houko Kuwashima, capable of doing voice acting for young boys, old men to kawaii girls and feminine women, is the voice role for Kasumi, again, in Dead or Alive Online (A DOA online game by Tecmo Japan and Shanda China). And yap, her singing is nice too. Check out her number in anime, Gundam Seed Destiny, below.

Dead or Alive Online (DOA Online) is a collaboration between Shanda, an established China online gaming company, and Tecmo, a veteran Japanese developer. The Tecmo team, including the producer and project manager of DOA Online, was at ChinaJoy 2007, Shanghai, China, to answer some pressing questions about the game from DOA fans and gamers.

1. When will DOA Online debut in China?

Tecmo: A closed beta of DOA Online will begin in early 2008, open beta will commence before Beijing Olympics 2008 (8th August 2008). We have not determined the number of invitations for beta users yet.

2. What is Shanda’s role in DOA Online?

Tecmo: DOA Online will be developed by Tecmo. Shanda is the publisher and marketer of the game. Both companies will work closely to iron out any issues in China.

3. What is the difference between the PC and Xbox 360 versions of DOA?

Tecmo: For Dead or Alive on Microsoft Xbox 360 platform, every character’s story was already fixed by Tecmo. In DOA Online, players can create their own history and story for their DOA characters, form clans and organize tournaments. Players can even battle their way up to become world champion.

4. What’s the use of the cartoonish version of DOA characters?

Tecmo: The cartoon version is known as KIN. KINs don’t battle one-on-one to have a winner but they are useful for clans’ matches and missions.

5. Will Kasumi, Lei Fang and other evergreen DOA characters appear in the online version?

Tecmo: Sure. Kasumi, Lei Fang, Ayane, Helena and those babes will definitely be included. For other characters that have appeared in DOA series franchise, there’s a probability too.

6. Will the babes’ costumes be compromised as DOA Online is running in China?

Tecmo: Both companies (Shanda and Tecmo) are looking into this. We do wish that we can retain the original flavour of DOA franchise.

7. Will DOA Online be having some leisure gaming elements such as beach volleyball?

Tecmo: Our aim is to make DOA Online a leader in PC online-versus-fighting game. That’s our priority.

8. Online fighting game requires significant resources such as a fast internet connection. Will DOA Online be that demanding?

Tecmo: With Tecmo’s years in online communication and Shanda’s technical expertise and its SGDP engine, we believe we can solve this problem and provide gamers a totally fulfilling DOA online experience.
