Siliconera, one of our channel’s most popular blogs, has a nice new preview of Silent Hill: The Arcade. This version is quite different from what you’ve come to know of Silent Hill games, but it’s hard to say if it’s a good or bad thing.
If you enjoy a shortage of ammunition in your games, then you’ll be surprised to hear that this Silent Hill is chock-full of ammo. Yes, you’re looking at a shooter on rails.

So what is Silent Hill: the Arcade like? For starters, the cabinet is a bit different from the ones I’ve seen. Whoever designed it definitely wanted no onlookers because as Spencer (the blog’s author) described, “You have to step into a mess of hanging streamers” before you can pick up your gun.

Spencer also revealed that the game has some cheap tricks in its sleeve. Apparently, several decoy zombies attract your attention while more dangerous monsters pop-up below the screen. What is it about “horror” games and their monster placement?

If you know your Silent Hill, then you’ll be happy to learn that Pyramid Head is one of the many baddies you get to pump with an obscene amount of lead. However, it’s still unclear though how to beat the iconic fiend.

Aside from Pyramid Head, you’ll also run into some bugs, zombie nurses, and monstrous dogs, among others. Yes, it feels like one big happy reunion.

I seriously doubt the radio with static would be of any use in this game.

Spencer over at Siliconera announced more Halo 3 goodness that’s bound to whet a fanboy’s appetite. First, you can get to be one of the first to play Halo 3. Hey, no biggie right? What’s a couple of days later than those losers?
That’s what you think.
If you do get to win tickets to this event, you can experience playing Halo 3 on a huge IMAX screen. Yes, a screen that’s at least 22m wide and 16.1m high. All you need to complete the experience is a Wiimote. There’s a catch though: registering in the event page and winning tickets isn’t [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

Yes, a screen that’s at least 22m wide and 16.1m high. All you need to complete the experience is a Wiimote. There’s a catch though: registering in the event page and winning tickets isn’t an assurance that you’d be able to get in the New York and San Francisco events.

Like other significant gaming occasions where you show everyone you’re a complete dork, you’ll have to line up because only the first 200 people will be allowed to enter. Overnights are very likely.

Next Halo 3 surprise? A thousand other lucky gamers get to win Halo 3. The best part? You get your free copy by September 24, a day before everyone else does. So it’s free, and it’s early. Where do I sign?
