Metroid Quarantine: Samus Aran and her universe in Lego

Dangnabit! The title is a dead giveaway! Well, I\’d like you to take a gander at the image below:\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\nPretty little Lego spaceship, eh? It\’s actually a model of Samus Aran\’s gunship in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and is part of a collection of images on Flickr known as Metroid Quarantine. The collection of Metroid-related pictures is but the tip of the iceberg. The group also has a website known as (what else!) Metroid Quarantine, The Metroid Blog.\r\n\r\nGo check out Metroid Quarantine\’s other photos.\r\n\r\nOh, and if you\’re wondering what Samus Aran\’s gunship looks like in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, here\’s a …read more

Gordon Freeman in Mario Land #2

Okay, okay, wait! Before you bash my head in with that axe after showing you a bad video about Gordon Freeman’s adventure in the world of Super Mario Brothers, I want you to take a look at these videos and tell me which is better:

Well, regardless of which video you choose, one thing’s for certain: They’re both better than the video I showed you in my previous posting, Gordon Freeman in Mario Land.
My only beef with the guys who did the modifications is the way they presented the world of Super Mario Brothers. Come on! The game Super Mario Brothers …read more

Blast from the past: Castlevania commercials

Since we’re on the subject of Simon Belmont and Castlevania, I think it proper to reintroduce the game to today’s generation of video game fanatics through a video. This video is actually a collection of Castlevania commercials on the boobtube. Enjoy!

I love this line: Fear has no form. Fear has no name. But now fear has an address … Castlevania!

Is Simon Belmont gay?

I’ve been meaning to pose this question for a very long time … as in since I was, hmmm, a little boy. Not that there’s anything wrong with being gay. The question actually comes from the mind of a disturbed lad nicknamed seanbateman42069@yahoo.com on The SHIZZ.org discussion boards.
Here’s an excerpt from his post entitled, “For The People That Watched Captain N As A Kid, I have a ‘?’ “:
Was Simon Belmont gay?
Not that it matters or anything, but I remember being eight (years old) and thinking he was a little, hmmm, off, you could say. Today was Day One of …read more

What? Choplifter III? Where?

Sigh. This is the very reason why I, a video game fanatic, hate living in a little tropical country. There are just some video games that I’m bound to miss. Take Choplifter III, for instance. Although the game was released for the Game Boy, the Game Gear, and the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the early 1990s, and I owned two of the aforementioned video game consoles, I still missed it.
Fortunately, there are video clips of Choplifter III to make up for the loss. Check one of them out here:

It’s a little more complicated than the original Choplifter but is …read more

Arnold Schwarzenegger? No, it’s Simon Belmont!

I guess you’re probably sick with all the stuff I’ve been putting out about Castlevania and its main protagonist, Simon Belmont. Well, here’s another one, sans the mention of the vain Simon Belmont in that old cartoon series, Captain Nintendo.
Guess who?

The figurine may look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in his role as Conan the Barbarian, but I assure you that it’s Simon Belmont, one of the action figures in Castlevania: Series 1. Go figure why it looks like Arnie.
Image shows action figure of Simon Belmont, the main character in the hit video game Castlevania, developed by Konami.

Simon Belmont faints

I know, I know. You’re probably asking, “What the hell do you think you’re doing watching an 80s cartoon that trashed one of Nintendo’s most beloved characters?”
The answer is: I just had to see if my loathing for the Captain Nintendo version of Simon Belmont is gone. Apparently, it’s still there. The only way this feeling will dissipate is when they actually give the vain dude a movie of his own.
Hey, Van Helsing got his own film, I don’t see why Simon Belmont, vampire hunter, can’t have one.
