It’s no secret the Southeastern Conference is the toughest conference in college football for 2008. Just last week the SEC had four of the top five teams in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. However, after a crazy weekend of football, I’m wondering one thing. Why is Alabama not getting more love in the polls?
The Tide have rolled just about anyone that they have played against. After taking down Clemson and Georgia, Alabama has a strong claim at being the top team in the land. Yet, in the latest rankings, the Crimson Tide moved up [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

It’s no secret the Southeastern Conference is the toughest conference in college football for 2008. Just last week the SEC had four of the top five teams in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. However, after a crazy weekend of football, I’m wondering one thing. Why is Alabama not getting more love in the polls?

The Tide have rolled just about anyone that they have played against. After taking down Clemson and Georgia, Alabama has a strong claim at being the top team in the land. Yet, in the latest rankings, the Crimson Tide moved up to number two in the country, behind Oklahoma. Yet, I feel that Oklahoma has not played the caliber of teams Alabama has and it’s time the voters realize who the real top team is.

Alabama still has a few big games on their schedule where they can prove they should be considered for the top spot. The Crimson Tide will visit Tennessee on Oct. 25 and LSU on Nov. 8. The Crimson Tide host Auburn on Nov. 29, which will most likely be for bragging rights in the SEC West.

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Today we look at Bobby Petrino.
There’s no denying that two of the most talked about college football coaches in the nation this off season have been Rich Rodriguez and Bobby Petrino. Both have new jobs and left their previous jobs under much scrutiny. Petrino bolted from the Atlanta Falcons before the season was complete and was introduced at a press conference in Fayetteville, [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

With Football season right around the corner, we here at Dejuiced! have decided to take a look at the coaches in the NFL and college football to see how well the fans approve of them. Today we look at Bobby Petrino.

There’s no denying that two of the most talked about college football coaches in the nation this off season have been Rich Rodriguez and Bobby Petrino. Both have new jobs and left their previous jobs under much scrutiny. Petrino bolted from the Atlanta Falcons before the season was complete and was introduced at a press conference in Fayetteville, Arkansas just before midnight (see videos below).

Petrino has been a very successful collegiate coach. He’s won everywhere he’s been at, which includes several stops. Unfortunately, his track record has to have Razorback fans wondering how long he plans to stay. Yet, there’s no doubt that most of the Razorback fan base is ecstatic to have Petrino at the reigns of their football program. He’ll take over from another controversial coach in Houston Nutt, who was all but run out of town by the fans before putting down roots at Ole Miss.

Razorback fans expect a high quality product on the field each season. To compete in the Southeastern Conference, you have to have such a product. So, Coach Petrino has a lot to live up to. He’ll definitely earn all of his paycheck (5 years – $2.85 million per year) this season with the likes of Florida, Texas, Auburn and LSU on the schedule. It’s tough to tell this early how Arkansas will do with such a brutal schedule. It would be tough to say that the Hogs could win eight games (like another site has predicted). It’s more likely that Arkansas will be 6-6 after year one under Petrino, but you never know.

Now the question remains. Do you approve or disapprove of Coach Petrino? Cast your vote now.

If you didn’t catch Petrino being introduced (and how could you have missed it!), check out the two videos below from KATV Channel 7 out of Little Rock.
