Authorities are still unsure as to what caused David Beckham’s more be-bobbed half to crack a grin on not one but two occasions. Is it because the Spice Girls are breaking up (again)? Is it because Victoria’s Secret deemed her the World’s Sexiest Mom? Or is she just laughing at one of the Project Runway contestants while serving as judge for the finale?

To quote that early ’80s Tootsie Pop commercial where the little boy asks the owl, “How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?” . . .

“The world may never know.”

Breaking Beckham News: VICTORIA SMILES

Allegedly, David Beckham’s twiggier half is in town for a Spice Girls concert and to promote her line of dvb jeans. While both of those things are true, we think it’s a cover for the real reason she’s in Beantown: Victoria Beckham is a New England Patriots fan.

Whether it’s because she’s some kind of girl crush on Gisele Bundchen or felt the Gillette Stadium vibes her hubby picked up when playing the New England Revolution* just before football season, we simply don’t know.

Ah, so our reasoning may be more off than Tara Reid’s Reality Check Gauge. But if Posh isn’t a Pats fan, we’re pretty sure she isn’t a Giants fan. Because we all know what happens to Giants fans in Boston . . .

Victoria Beckham’s Secret: Patriots Fan?

If you guessed Tony Parker and Eva Longoria as the Vegas partygoers, you’d be wrong. More about them below.

No, it’s David and Victoria Beckham who put “Spice” in bold and italics. The smokin’ couple enjoyed a kids-free outing in Vegas following a handful of Spice Girl performances. Among the fun and frolicking was a trip to a strip joint (the VIP room, of course) with gaggle of fellow oglers. 

The Beckhams’ presence proved inspirational, with one pole-dancing wonder observing fondly to the London Daily Mirror, “I put on a really sexy show for them.”

As long as she didn’t take cues from Britney Spears’ much-mocked VMA travesty performance (3m, 39s) in September, we’re sure she was fine. (Note: We’ve been looking for an excuse to post this video since Gossip on Sports launched a little over two months ago.)

If you viewed it: No, the voice wasn’t off from the video and the film wasn’t slowed. Yes, her lip-synching really was that bad and her dance moves really were clumsier than a blindfolded Goofy after he’s been spun three times in a circle. As for Tony and Eva, the San Antonio Spurs guard is denying the hotel hook-up claims of French model Alexandra Paressant. She’s spouting tales of amour and then some in Paris—the locale of the Parker-Longoria nuptials. Paressant says she got to know Tony in the biblical sense just three months after the knot-tying and even jetted to San Antonio for more.

But is the catwalker just being catty? She’s far from discreet, that’s for sure: She spilled details of an alleged affair with a Brazilian soccer player to a British tabloid. Fame seeker or professional “other woman”? Only the sheets know for sure.

What Happens in Vegas . . . and in Paris . . .

After two, possibly three, seconds of deep thought, we decided: No way! We can still squeeze some mileage out of it.

SO: The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show aired last night. We weren’t there, but we did wear VS underthings to show our support. (Get it? Support?).

How, you might be wondering, can we rationalize yet another post on Brazilian supermodels?

The Spice Girls! And the severe-looking woman in any of their group photos is, of course, Victoria Beckham, wife of soccer star David Beckham.

So there you have it, the Six Degrees of Separation: Supermodel Edition. David Beckham is a professional athlete married to Spice Girls’ member Victoria. The group performed at last night’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, hence the justification for posting Ambrosio’s picture.
