I didn’t realize that music from SpongeBob Squarepants was being released on CD but apparently it is since the SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits album came out earlier this week. Some people might think this animated show is just for kids but I’d argue that adults could understand the humor a little better so I’m not ashamed to admit that I watched this show long before my kids ever discovered it.

I also won’t shy away from the fact that I recognized most of the songs I heard on the album’s preview. Of course, it includes the super infectious theme song but it also has favorites like “The Goofy Goober Song,” “Where’s Gary” and “Doing the Sponge” among others.

I was surprised to see a reworked version of the theme song by Cee-Lo and Pink performing “We’ve Got Scurvy.”

Sure, it’s silly and a little childish but it’s actually a pretty fun little collection of songs. It’s also great for road trips when you need to play something that will appease your kids when you’ve really gotten sick of listening to Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers.

There’s nothing like a fistful of assorted Reese’s goodies and a dose of Godiva to put one in a giving mood.
With that in mind, we’re ready to announce the winners of the caption contest from earlier this month!
To jog your memory (and to remind us that the candy OD is fine because we jogged and then ran on the treadmill for a long time today), we invited readers to submit a funny caption for this A-Rod photo:

With that in mind, we’re ready to announce the winners of the caption contest from earlier this month!

To jog your memory (and to remind us that the candy OD is fine because we jogged and then ran on the treadmill for a long time today), we invited readers to submit a funny caption for this A-Rod photo:

Image: Used with permission of www.splashnewsonline.com

Participants had to use each of the following three phrases in the caption: strikeout, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Sarah Palin.

We asked The Bee and the other half of Team Revision (a.k.a. Pinky) for some help, and we picked not one but two winners. In no particular order, the two winning captions are *cue the drumroll and ignore the fact that it’s a cliche*

I strikeout and spongebob squarepants got a date with sarah palin . I though I’d never lose this this bet! I’M A-ROD! —Submitted by reader glen pollard

Sarah Palin vs. SpongeBob Squarepants – who won the debate? who will strike out? My money’s on, uh, my face at the moment. Weird. —Submitted by reader R.H.

All were clever entries and picking a winner was not easy . . . hence the cop out and the fact that we picked two. Congrats to glen pollard and R.H. . . . a copy of Jordan McAuley’s Secrets to Contacting Celebrities will be on its way!
