I Miss Gaming

I was really first bitten by the “gaming bug” when I was in high school.
My first love [insert flying doves and shit here] was a huge gaming nerd who was in love with me but whose first love was Lunar: Silver Star Story on the Sega-CD.
Up to that point in my rather dismal gaming life, I had only played the occasional game of Mario Brothers or Duck Hunt and played WAY too much Lion King on the Sega Genesis [DON'T JUDGE ME!].
Since I wanted to keep boyfriend interested in me and I liked spending hours at a stretch in front …read more

Don’t Tell Me Starcraft II has no LAN Support

I cannot believe the repors that Blizzard is removing the LAN Support for Starcraft 2. The best about network games, in this case, the starcraft I, was the camp out with friends where we all decide which house to stay over the weekend and bring all our desktop computers play the Starcraft game the whole weekend.

Blizzard is said to be removing the LAN support for Starcraft II which beats the excitement of the product. Ok, there is called the battle net but there were already a ton of anti-social games from the world of Warcraft, and now Blizzard is …read more

Second Life Trailing World of Warcraft

Everyone is talking about the dominance of World of Warcraft (WOW) and millions of people spend most of their time in front of the computer on Blizzard’s WOW.

Second Life has silently managed to sneak into second place in the “PC Games” category as the most played title.
Traling them far behind are games like Dar Messiah of Might & Magic, Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword, Bookwork, Half-Life 2, Civiliation IV, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Chessmaster Challenge, and StarCraft.
I am surprised to see Chessmaster Challenge make it on the top ten, but I am happy that at least a lot of …read more

Former WCG StarCraft Champion Nabbed For Break-In, Even Zergs Can’t Help

Former World Cyber Games (WCG) StarCraft: Brood War 2003 Korean champion Lee Yong Bum (ogogo) was nabbed for breaking into an advertising company and looted more than $18k of video equipment last year. Prior to this, Lee had stolen a handphone in his high school and robbed a rental van driver.
In his account to the police, the retired Zerg pro said he has suffered enormous stress due to long training hours and mediocre results during his pro-gaming days. Has instant StarCraft fame and failure get the better of him? We really don’t know.

StarCraft 2008?

This is just another keep-you-excited-for-a-moment rumour. Blizzard may just bring a surprise to StarCraft’s fans next year…a StarCraft 2008 game.
Itzik Ben Bassat, Vice President Business Development and International for Blizzard, recently mentioned, “I’m a StarCraft player myself and I hope it’s not a decade, and we launched StarCraft in 1998, before I’m standing here again, celebrating the next game in the series.”
