Advertising was the safety net that Google had when they launched their search engine. Initially they wanted to have their search engine technology licensed to the enterprise and at the back of their mind advertising would be a contingency plan. As it turned out, advertising became their primary option turning billions of dollars in revenues.
Desktop applications on the other hand were purchased through licenses and advertisements downloaded from the net through desktop applications were deemed security issues that security firms like Symantec blocked through their anti-spyware or anti-adware programs.

In the “yes” column: iTunes 9.0. Full-length album download format. Facebook & Twitter integration in iTunes. Lower iPod prices. Whole new iPod Nano with built-in video camera, FM radio tuner, microphone, speaker, pedometer, available today.
And all this under the long-awaited return of Steve Jobs.

This quote made its way to the press release stating that the iPhone 3G S sold a million units over the span of 3 days.

The question I had last May was if Steve Jobs will return to Apple, well it looks like I have my answer. According to WSJ, Steve Jobs is set to keep his promise and return to Apple by the end of June. Some people have said to have spotted Jobs at the Apple campus.
Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple was also quoted to have said that Jobs seemed to be healthy and energetic during their last phone conversation. Ben Charny’s post on Digits, (blog for WSJ) had this to say about Wozniak’s comment regarding Jobs.

June is around the corner, is Steve Jobs coming back to Apple? With several weeks to go before the said date of Steve Job’s return, we’ve yet to hear news about his health, whereabouts and so on.
This leads me to ask and ponder if Steve Jobs will come back to Apple. The optimist in me says that he will, but having lost someone close to me recently to Pancreatic cancer, I’m not holding my breath.
