The minimum system requirements for Mirror’s Edge, a first-person “action adventure” game, was released by EA during NVISION 08. Interestingly, the requirements are quite low for a new game that’s targeted to ship during Q4 2008 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
The specs you need to run Mirror’s Edge are the following:

OS: Windows XP or Vista
CPU: Pentium 4 at 2.4 GHz / Athlon 64 2800+
RAM: 1GB
Gfx card: GeForce 6 Series with 256MB VRAM or higher, or ATI X1650 (or HD2400)

The main question is: would Mirror’s Edge perform well on a system such as this, or would it merely [...]
Post from: EveryJoe

The main question is: would Mirror’s Edge perform well on a system such as this, or would it merely chug? Considering that the developer is Digital Illusions CE, the game’s performance would perhaps be similar to Battlefield 2 on average PCs circa 2005. In English, that means your middle-of-the-road PC can probably run the game. However, there is a price to see all the pretty details–an arm and a leg for the beefy video card.

The Korean schedule for the second stage of Huxley closed beta testing has just been announced. It will take place from Dec. 13 to 17. Registration for new local testers will begin this month, though gamers who took part in the first closed beta test will be able to participate as well.

For the clueless, Huxley is that gorgeous MMOFPS for the Xbox 360 and PC being developed by Korea-based Webzen. Is it any good? Sadly, I have no idea since I wasn’t part of the closed beta test.

According to the press release, the second close beta test will evaluate Huxley’s FPS elements, as well as the complementary system stability elements.

“We’re highlighting the FPS elements in the first and second closed beta tests, and will roll out the much-anticipated MMO elements in later stages of testing,” said Nam-Ju Kim, Webzen CEO. “I’m confident that this blend of MMO and twitch-action FPS design will have a positive effect on the online gaming market.”

More information about Huxley’s Korean closed beta testing will be available shortly at www.huxley.co.kr. I tried browsing the site myself, but other than the minimum requirements, I was prevented from getting any other significant info because I don’t read Korean. Even Babelfish won’t work because much of the site is in Flash.

<o> </o>

The system requirements are pretty much current, but you’ll be surprised by the size of the client.

Minimum System Requirements
CPU – Pentium 4 2.4GHz
RAM – 1GB
Graphics – GeForce 6600
Operating System – Windows XP
Hard Drive Space – 6GB
Direct X – DirectX 9.0c

Recommended System Requirements
CPU – Pentium 4 3.0GHz
RAM – 2GB
Operating System – Windows XP
Hard Drive Space – 6GB

You can see the requirements in the English site anyway.

September 25 will be an important day in 2007 gaming. Aside from the release of Halo 3 on the Xbox 360, the day also marks the arrival of the Crysis demo on the PC. Getting the demo will answer the single most important question that PC gamers are wondering.

“Can my rig run Crysis?”

You probably know the answer already because we’ve already given you the system requirements, but maybe you’re still in denial because you’re itching to play this shooter but the hardware needed is just insane.

If you must know, what’s in store for us is the game’s first level. There’ll also be a “huge surprise” from Crytek, whatever that is. Maybe the “huge surprise” is the size of the demo. Instead of downloading a 2GB behemoth, perhaps it’s just 600MB. Or maybe the minimum requirements have been readjusted that even a 486 can run the game.
