Where’s My Economic Stimulus Check?

My sister is a little worried. She completed the economic stimulus payment calculator and found that her family should expect $1,200 for her tax rebate. After looking at the economic stimulus payment schedule, she discovered that she should have received her stimulus payment, via direct deposit, just over three weeks ago.

So, she went to the IRS Web site to find out what the problem is. There is a feature called “Where’s My Stimulus Payment?” No matter how hard (and how much later) she tried, this is what she got:

Also, she got a message on another part of the Web site telling her that no information was available, and that it wouldn’t be until a week before she received her check. There was a warning that calling wouldn’t help, since representatives would not have the information, either.

If that is the case, how can she get information? Mistakes in processing mean that thousands of tax rebate checks are being directed to the wrong accounts. Is my sister’s one of them? And how is she supposed to find out?
