Suns Sign the Other Griffin

In the 2009 NBA Draft, every team wanted Blake Griffin. The number one overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers is projected by some scouts to be a superstar in the making. With the 48th overall pick, the Phoenix Suns went with the next best thing by drafting Taylor Griffin — Blake’s older brother.
The 6-foot-7 forward will be transitioning to playing out on the perimeter in the NBA. During summer league, he averaged 6.2 points and 3.0 assists per game. Last year playing with his brother on the Oklahoma Sooners, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

North Dakota State doubles up opponent

–The NDSU Bison scored 74 in the first half alone against NAIA opponent Mayville St. (128-64) Mississippi Valley State spends about 2 ½ games worth of time reaching 74, usually. MVSU and Mayville St. might be competitive.
–Stephen Curry LAUNCHED 15 three’s against the Sooners yesterday in a 4 point defeat. He only made 6 of them. Taking 29 shots to score 44 points isn’t the type of efficiency a team looks for from their PG.
–Bryant Barr had a lousy game, only connecting on 1-9 field goals.

The Sooners come into the season as under-the-radar as you can get while having one of the most talented players in the country on the roster. While Blake Griffin is now a widely known force, soon the country will discover just how good freshman guard Willie Warren is. A 6’4 combo guard, Willie will be expected to play on the wing as well as man the point, no small wonder even for the most polished guard signee the Sooners have ever had.
