Tedy Bruschi is calling it a career. The New England Patriots linebacker announced his intentions on Monday. It brings an end to a 13-year NFL career — with all games played with the Patriots.
Although he has played less and less in recent years, this announcement was somewhat surprising. The Patriots will now need to rely on their young linebacking corps to fill in the gaps. However, New England won’t be able to replace Bruschi’s leadership, passion and inspirational presence on the football field.

Veteran linebacker Tedy Bruschi will remain with the New England Patriots. He’s inked a multiyear deal with the Patriots and the fans are happy.
You’d be hard pressed to find a Pats fan who wasn’t also a Bruschi fan. His story is enough to warm the cockles of even the most frozen-hearted (normally, that describes us . . . except when it comes to the hometeam, natch).
