Robin Roberts Emcee Legends Ball

Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts, has been chosen to emcee the Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum Legends Ball on September 11, 2009. The annual event (which began in 1980) accomplishes two very important things at the same time – raising money for the International Tennis Hall of Fame and honoring the athletes who have contributed so much to the sport.
Those attending the event can also bid on once-in-a-lifetime experiences and unique items in a silent and live auction. I would love to own a piece of history (I’m sure I couldn’t afford it, though!).

Monica Seles Inducted into Hall of Fame

On Thursday, January 15th, women’s tennis legend Monica Seles was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Seles’s career consisted of nine Grand Slam singles titles and the stabbing incident that anyone who follows tennis remembers. She returned to the tour after being stabbed.
During a conference call, Seles said, “It was just a lot of highs and a lot of lows. One of the things that always kept me going was my love of the game.”
