Larry Scott Resigns as WTA Tour CEO

The Tennis Channel broke the news yesterday that Larry Scott would be stepping down as the Sony Ericson WTA Tour CEO. He resigned in order to become the Commissioner of the NCAA’s (National Collegiate Athletic Association) PAC-10 Conference, effective July 1, 2009.

Tennis News Round-up: Angry Sharapova and Powerhouse Nadal
Let’s get down and dirty, straight to the point:
Maria Sharapova is pissed off at the WTA for forcing her to either do a promotional photo shoot or pony up $700 grand for skipping it. The shoot is scheduled for the day before the Italian Open starts May 12. Sharapova is mad about the timing; the WTA says it is being as flexible as possible and that the players have known about it for a significant period of time.
