Davydenko Advances at Croatia Open

In an easy 6-2, 6-2 victory, top-seeded Nikolay Davydenko eliminated Daniel Gimeno-Traver at the 2009 Croatia Open. Davydenko will advance to the second-round of the event where he will play Alberto Martin who defeated Martin Klizan 6-4, 6-4.
Davydenko commented on the fact that the weather was difficult to play in: “When I started to run, I felt I had no power. (I hit) a couple of winners which helped me, but it was tough. I would like to play a night session in the second round.”

2009 Capitala World Tennis Championship Schedule is Announced

The Capitala World Tennis Championship schedule has been announced and from the sounds of it, we are going to see some amazing matches!
Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko, Andy Roddick and James Blake all made the line-up for the tournament, which runs from January 1-3.
Here’s the breakdown of who will play who:
On New Year’s Day Andy Roddick will take on #5 Nikolay Davydenko.
Next, Andy Murray will play James Blake.
On Jan. 2, Roger Federrer will play the winner of the Murray/Blake match.
In the 2nd semi-final, Rafael Nadal will take on the winner of the Roddick/Davydenko match.
