Going into this week, Ohio State’s record wasn’t perfect. That said, Purdue was coming off of a five-game losing streak. So, no one thought that today would be difficult for the Buckeyes.
Yet, it was. So difficult, in fact, that the Boilermakers took advantage of Terrelle Pryor’s fumbles and interceptions and when on to win 26 – 18.

Going into this week, Ohio State’s record wasn’t perfect. That said, Purdue was coming off of a five-game losing streak.
Yet, it was. So difficult, in fact, that the Boilermakers took advantage of Terrelle Pryor’s fumbles and interceptions and when on to win 26 – 18.

That’s not to say that Purdue only won because Ohio State didn’t play well. Quarterback Joey Elliott did well today, especially in the second half, and the Purdue defense kept forcing turnovers and stopping drives. Purdue dominated, simple as that.

It’s easy to forget that Pryor isn’t an experienced upperclassman. Yes, he’s a good player, but days like today remind us all that he still has a lot to learn. Getting to a BCS Bowl Game is nearly impossible at this point, unless drastic things happen in college football, but I can see him growing as a quarterback, and I’ll be interested to see what he does the rest of the season and next year.

It is official – Terrelle Pryor, 2008’s top recruit, has chosen Ohio State. Overall, looking at this from JUST a football standpoint, I think he would have had more opportunity at Michigan, especially since they don’t have a quarterback*. Ohio State had Boeckmen, who they’d be crazy to take off the starting line-up, but some experts suggest that he might be Tim-Tebow-esque successfully during his freshman year.

Whatever my feelings about football may be, I do think that this was the right personal choice for Pryor. You have to go with the college that feels right to you, because there could always be injuries or other circumstances that prevent you from going pro. If you don’t have a good education, it won’t matter how well you tossed a football in high school.

* And hey, Michigan…let’s talk. Who the hell is going to start for you? Can we say “rebuilding year”???

Terrelle Pryor, the number one college football recruit for 2008, has finally made a decision.
Well, almost.
Pryor, along with a few other top recruits, didn’t choose a school on National Signing Day, and his moves have been watched closely every since. Last word was that he was deciding between Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State. Rivals is reporting that he’s since said it was down to two of those schools. Which two? He’s keeping his lips zipped, but we all pretty much know that Penn State is out of the running.

Why? <strike>Because Pryor isn’t a dumbass…</strike> Because Pryor has mentioned in the past that he didn’t really like the area. Top that off with an unstable coaching future, a horrible current quarterback coach, and a missed official visit, and you can guess that he’s not even considering PSU anymore, which is too bad. It’s probably for his best, though, since we all saw what happened to Anthony Morelli, who was also a top recruiting coming into the NCAA system.

So it’s down to Oregon, Ohio State, and Michigan. Let’s assume that Oregon is out of the running as well. He’s never even been there.

While, I agree with the Rivals report that he’s likely going to choose Ohio State, I strongly believe that purely from a football standpoint, he’d have a better chance at Michigan. With Ryan Mallet gone, there’s no one left to step up into Chad Henne’s spot (at least, no one worth mentioning at this point), so Pryor could very well see lots of playing time his freshman year.

Of course, that might lead to a Jimmy Clausen scenerio…

In any case, Pryor has promised to make the announcement by the end of the week. He’s been busy with basketball, and thought he might be playing a game in State College last weekend, so didn’t want to make any anti-PSU (or pro-PSU) confirmation before that.

Pryor’s a smart kid with a lot of athletic potential. I am sick of hearing about him though. I respect his decision to wait until he was sure, but it’s time to decide. Put on your hate, Pryor!
