To Vista or Not to Vista

I can’t decide, should I download Vista or not? For anyone not aware, you can download the public beta preview now here.
My challenge is that this computer is my sole home computer. Still no test system up and running yet. Would hate to lose all the personal stuff if something unexpected happened. The other challenge is that I know I’d need to upgrade my graphics card to get the full effect of everything.
