Ford Warns Against Distracted Driving

Texting while driving has been a very popular topic in local and state governments over the last few months. Ford Motor Company is now chiming in by stressing how dangerous it is for people to drive when distracted. Ford specifically is pointing out the dangers when teens are distracted — such as when they are texting and driving.
According to Ford’s research, most accidents are caused by inattentive drivers and the rate is even higher with newer drivers. As a result, car crashes remain the number one killer of teenagers in the United States.

Text Messaging Ban Supported by ATA

In states all across the USA, text messaging while driving is currently (or is about to be) outlawed. Numerous studies have found that text messaging while driving dramatically increases the chances of the driver getting in an accident. The American Trucking Association recently came out to say that they strongly support the ban on text messaging while driving.
Currently, text messaging while driving is illegal in Utah, Tennessee, New Jersey, Minnesota, Connecticut, California and Alaska and can result in a ticket.
