If you are a weirdo (read: I love you) who doesn’t like to download their game off the internet and would rather have a box copy sitting on your pretty shelf, do I have good news for you. The retail version of Sam and Max Season 1 has officially shipped out to mine and your favorite game stores all throughout the US. Isn’t that exciting business? Not for years have we seen the loveliness of Sam and Max on a computer game box in an actual store. I think life has officially gotten better.
Yes… yes it has.

According to Adventure Gamers, the retail box will contain a poster created by our favorite Sam and Max creator, Steve Purcell and a bonus disc with a bunch of behind the scenes crud. So, not only do you get a game, but you get prizes, too!

Nice job, TellTale. Nice job. Oh, and let’s not forget about The Adventure Company, either, for they are the smart ones who published the game.

It looks like they’re selling the boxed set on Amazon for $29.99, which is dirt cheap for all the goodness you get! If you are a reader from Europe… fear not. You’ll be seeing Sam and Max in your stores sometime in September.

According to The International House of Mojo, a retail release of Sam and Max will be hitting stores sometime in August. The good ol’ folks over at The Adventure Company are going to be the one to produce that humorous series of games that we have all come to know and love.

According to The International House of Mojo, a retail release of Sam and Max will be hitting stores sometime in August. The good ol’ folks over at The Adventure Company are going to be the one to produce that humorous series of games that we have all come to know and love.

Now, no one is quite sure what’s going to be on these cds yet. Yes, the games themselves will be on those precious little pieces of media, but will there be extras? Will there be mini-games? Will there be interviews of all of our favorite TellTale Games people? We just don’t know. What is know, however, is that it will be different from the cd that TellTale is issuing in May to people who bought the season package from TellTale’s site.

Let’s hope that the two cds are going to be very similar, so I don’t have to spring another $30 to get all the extras. But if I have to, I won’t complain about it too much, because I know that if I purchase that cd, about $.03 will get into the actual developers hands and I can’t deny them that.
