With Tom Brady Out, Who’s Going To Win The AFC East?

This week’s installment of For Argument’s Sake centers on football, of course. We are well into fall, which means one thing and one thing only — the NFL season is underway.
I’m sure that all of you know that Tom Brady is out for the season after tearing his ACL during the Patriots’ game against the Chiefs on Sunday. It’s a huge blow to the Patriots organization and all of the fans in New England. With Tom Brady out, the entire AFC landscape has been altered. And the AFC East is wide open.

Which Quarterback Will Have A Breakout Season?

I’ve been pondering this question all weekend. Now that we’re in full NFL
Preseason mode, I think it’s a fair question to ask. I’ve got three players I think could have a breakout season. And I’m not talking about the obvious ones here either, the Tom Brady’s or the Peyton Manning’s. I’m talking about Aaron Rodgers, Jason Campbell and Trent Edwards.

Weekend Sports Update

And what a weekend it was!
First off, I have to take a moment to pay my respects to Tim Russert who passed away on Friday, June 13. Tim was from Buffalo, as am I, and he’s been a permanent supporter of the Buffalo area. He is beloved and revered, and everyone here at home feels as though we have lost a member of our family. God bless Tim and the rest of his family.
Now on to sports.

Man, I am tired today. Hey Mr. Stern — how about starting the games at 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. next year to give us east coast kids a break!

I stayed up to watch the game because the Boston Celtics put on the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history. It was amazing to watch (and I was watching and blogging at the same time).
