Sanchez beats Guida in TUF9 bloodbath

Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida stole the show at the Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale last night – not an easy feat considering the other amazing bouts on the card. In the first round Diego was absolutely slaughtering Guida, boxing him up against the cage and landing a direct kick to Guida’s face that no doubt knocked the taste out of his mouth. It was a miracle that Guida managed to survive the first round, but he did one better by coming back in the second to take Sanchez down and punish him on the ground.
It was in that second round …read more
Bas Rutten: “I have zero respect for Kimbo”

As Kimbo Slice attempts to rekindle his guttered career on the Ultimate Fighter, he’ll have to do it without the support of his former coach and all around crazy person Bas Rutten. Back when Slice was the untested star of the EliteXC promotion, Bas was one of the few legitimate and respected mixed martial artists who were talking him up, calling him a talented newcomer who’d do big things if he kept working hard.
Unfortunately, Bas Rutten claims that around the time of the Ken Shamrock fight, Kimbo stopped listening to him and actually started to get worse. Here’s what he …read more

Those debating how well Kimbo Slice will do on the Ultimate Fighter haven’t had much information to work with one way or the other. Without knowing who he’s going up against, how can you assume he’s going to fail or succeed? But now the full 16 heavyweight roster for the Ultimate Fighter 10 has been sniffed out, and rather than try to speculate on their skill level, I’m just going to order them from most intriguing to least:
Kimbo Slice: Mr Youtube Sensation himself, Kimbo Slice took Dana White up on his challenge to get into the UFC via the Ultimate …read more

In the world of mixed martial arts, there’s no doubt that Kimbo Slice is the most controversial figure in the sport. Either you are a big fan or you despise him.
Although he hasn’t fought since October when he lost, expect to see much more of Kimbo Slice. It was recently announced that he’ll be on The Ultimate Fighter — the popular reality television series on Spike.
MMA fans were already excited after it was announced that Rashad Evans and Rampage Jackson were going to be coaches in the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Now with Kimbo Slice added to the …read more

It looks like I’m a couple of days behind on this one, but it was announced on May 28th that Rashad Evans and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will be the next coaches for The Ultimate Fighter season 10.
Season 10 will feature all Heavyweights, with 16 coming in to fight for a chance at a contract with the UFC. This is the first time Heavyweights have been on The Ultimate Fighter since season 2 when Rashad Evans started his climb in the UFC. This is the second time Jackson has coached and the second time he’ll be coaching and fighting against a …read more
The Ultimate Fighter 9 Episode 8 Recap

It’s quite obvious from the previews that Jason Pierce is pretty much out of the run and his fight on this season. He’s got a staph infection that he’s complaining about and it seems to be getting worse. Dana White ask him if he wants to fight and Pierce is hesitant and Dana thinks he doesn’t really want to fight.
Jason Dent and Jeff Lawson are chosen to fight next. David Faulkner and Michael Bisping train but Falkner can seem to keep his “Gum-Shield” in his mouth. He says he’s always had a sensitive gag reflex and Bisping is worried that …read more
Frank Mir Speaks Out About Junie Browning

Martial arts has always been about discipline, about being in a better physical and mental fighter than your opponent. Although mixed martial arts is a bit different, it still holds the same values in my opinion. If you don’t have a clear state of mind and focus then your opponent may get the best of you.
Junie Browning showed some impressive skills when he fought Jose Aguilar on the first episode of The Ultimate Fighter 8. He made short work of Aguilar and impressed both Dana White and Frank Mir.
It wasn’t long after that we saw an alcohol fueled Junie Browning …read more

This past week I missed the fact that due to the Thanksgiving holiday, The Ultimate Fighter was not going to air. Instead, we saw replays of the last two episodes. You’ll have to wait until next week to see back to back episodes. December 3rd is also WEC 37 with Manny Tapia vs. Miguel Torres.
WEC 37 starts at 8 pm with 4 fights to air so it should be over by the time The Ultimate Fighter comes on at 10 pm on Spike TV. This Torres Vs. Tapia fight should be a great fight. Also Brian Bowles will be …read more

The final Lightweight fight aired last night on UFC’s The Ultimate Fighter with Team Noguiera’s John Polakowski facing Team Mir’s George Roop.
John Polakowski, while seeming like he has a bit of ADHD was the favored pick of this fight due to the fact that George Roop injured his hand pretty badly during practice when he got it caught in the fencing of the octagon. However during the fight he was throwing a lot of good left hands and feet and going for some take downs. Polakowski was trying to throw a lot of punches and landed a few good …read more
