David Beckham’s Life As Told . . . In Showtunes

Move over Jesus Christ Superstar, The Who’s Tommy, and Godspell.  A new rock opera could be hitting London’s West End: David Beckham—The Theatre of Dreams.
(No, that’s not a joke. Heck, don’t you think we’d come up with a better title if it were?)
People.com reports that librettist Mark Archer is chatting with producers to bring his obviously unhealthy fixation musical vision of Beckham’s life story via “powerful, gospel-like rock” to the stage.
No word on who will play the do-good LA Galaxy star or his wife Victoria, but can you imagine how fun that audition would be–buff guys trying to Bend It Like Beckham and women putting …read more
