With his family and friends looking on, Chris beat and re-set his own world record by racking up 899,703 points on Through the Fire and Flames. His old recorded score, 840,647 points, was reportedly obliterated by a Texas teenager who recorded 890,971 points. Your short reign is done with, Mr Texas.

The movie Donkey Kong: A Fistful of Quarters documented score-battles between two Donkey Kong champs. Are we entering a new digital battleground, here? A battleground fueled by power metal and guitar wars? It’s like my fantasy war has come to life and swept me away with it.

It’s nearly forty degress celcius with the humidex and our apartment has no air conditioning. And yet, our cat (Cammy) is sleeping on the nice warm external hard drive.
