With things crumbling at Michigan amid lawsuits and practice scandals, players at the school’s biggest rival are coming to their defense – at least about the so-called “ridiculous” practice schedule.
According to reports, Michigan’s coaching staff has been pushing the players to work out many more hours than is allowable according to NCAA rules. While these extra hours are “voluntary” on paper, anonymous players have said that punishment was in store for anyone who didn’t volunteer their time.

Training Until Complete Exhaustion

If you’re trying to accomplish something as fast as possible (like me right now), training to exhaustion is the fastest way to get there.  In this stage, you want to leave yourself with nothing left after your workout(s) at the end of the day.  It is impossible to keep this up for ever (nor would you want to) but every once in a while it’s good to put your body up against the grind for two weeks.  However, you shouldn’t do it if you know you might easily be discouraged from working out.
Today’s workout:

The Picture Tools Ribbon

The Picture Tools ribbon could very well be in my Top 5 list of new features in Office 2007. I’m regularly working with images in my day job, with blogging and with my variety of web clients. For most of my work I’m using a variety of programs ranging from the free Irfanview, to SnagIt, to the full-featured Macromedia Fireworks MX.
But for quick editing of images and making some creative changes to graphics, Word has started to become fairly full-featured for the average home user.

Office 2007 Packaging

Here’s the new packaging you should be looking for when you’re browsing your favorite software retailer shopping for the next version of Microsoft Office suite.
I’ve been running Office 2007 now for about 6 months or so across the various iterations. I’ve been pleased with the new features and organization of information. Anything you’re going to be using regularly is right up front, right where you need it when you need it.
The new Office suite will be …read more

With the new ribbon interface, I knew exactly where to go to get things done, but actually accomplishing the task was a little harder.
I’ve done this type of thing before with Word and it wasn’t too hard. It sometimes took me a few minutes to remember how to print different names on …read more
