John Beck Signed by the Ravens

After the 2009 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins released quarterback John Beck. With a number of teams interested in his services, Beck decided to ink with the Baltimore Ravens. Beck, who went to BYU and was the fourth quarterback taken in the 2007 draft, has played in five games in his NFL career.
The Dolphins no longer needed Beck due to having on their roster Chad Pennington and two young quarterbacks — Chad Henne (drafted in 2008) and Pat White (drafted in 2009).

Favorite For Ravens Starting QB? Troy Smith

Remember him? You know, the Heisman trophy winning QB from The Ohio State University and the last pick in the 5th round of the NFL draft. James Walker of ESPN.com is reporting that Troy Smith is the favorite to win the starting job for the Ravens so far. Not surprising (and I’m not saying this because I’m a Buckeye fan) since Kyle Boller seems to have had his shot and Joe Flacco is a rookie. It is sometimes good to sit out your first season and learn.
