Hands on: Condemned 2 demo is short and sweet

I’ve finally downloaded and played the Condemned 2: Bloodshot demo from PSN. I also queued up the Turok demo since I’ve never tried it either. By the time I’ve blown through the Condemned 2 demo, the Turok download was still stuck at 37% and it was already growing dark.
I guess that meant people were starting to wake up on the other side of the world and PSN has just gotten a little more crowded. Well, there’s always continuing it next day.
The Condemned 2 demo is visually sick in a good way. The city is appropriately dark, the environments look decrepit, …read more

Turok: How not to create an FPS

I\’ve never played the new Turok, but at some point during its development, I thought the FPS showed promise. At least until the bad reviews came out. Tired of bad shooter conventions, Yahtzee decided to make a tutorial on how not to make an FPS using Turok as his model.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAll in all, very good points. I just don\’t agree that auto-aim is a viable option in FPSes. Yes, I do use it, but it\’s just shameful I! Where art thou, FragFX?

Turok for the PS3 hits Datablitz shelves

Local stores may have a shortage of PlayStation 3 titles, but the arrival of Turok this week hopes to address that. According to Hackenslash, the FPS is available starting February 7th, Thursday.
Maricel Espiritu of DataBlitz revealed that there is still no advisory when Turok will be available for the Xbox 360. What does it matter anyway? The 360 owners have too many games to think about, so they can afford to wait for Turok.

Turok developer “plans” to remove Grab Bag achievement

Things have been pretty slow in the news department, thanks to the impending Christmas holidays. However, when news of Turok’s Grab Bag achievement reached my ears, I just knew there was something to thrash about the upcoming dino-shooter.
Never heard of the Grab Bag? Let me enlighten you then.
This achievement may be the worst you’ve ever heard of because it rewards you 10 points for killing “at least one creature, one enemy, one teammate, and yourself in the same round of a public match.” This means you’re rewarded for being an achievement whore and killing your teammates.
The latest update is actually …read more

Turok gives you the power of choice

We’ve heard this before. Ion Storm said you can finish Invisible War without firing a single shot. Does Turok really give you the choice between going guns-a-blazing or stealth gameplay? The video you’re about to watch says Turok does.

Voice actors for Turok are revealed

If you haven’t heard of Turok, then I suggest you shave your flowing beard, trim all your excess body hair, and take a hot bath because you’ve been out of touch from civilization for quite a while.

Turok is a comic book character-turned video game hero, and the latest installment will make its way to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The latest Turok news? The voice actors for the game are revealed. Timothy Olyphant, Powers Boothe, Ron Perlman, William Fichtner and Donnie Wahlberg are among the talents who recorded voices of characters in the game, which will be released …read more

Turok is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360

There’s a new FPS in town, and it’s Turok. It’s not really that new, since there have been several Turok games that came out for a number of game systems. This new generation of Turok is coming out for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, and we’ve got several videos for you to devour.
This shows Turok’s ranged combat:

Looks pretty arcadey to me, especially the bit with the bow and arrow. The game doesn’t take physics into account. This means the projectile you launch would land exactly where you point the crosshair.
