College Football Week Two 2009 in Review

I already talked about the Notre Dame – Michigan Game a little earlier today, but that wasn’t by far the only good game of the week. Week Two was surprisingly interesting. If this is any indication of what the rest of the 2009 college football season is like, it’s going to be an interesting year.

College Football Week Two 2009 Preview

Perhaps this preview is a little on the late side, since Georgia Tech (#15) already beat Clemson last night, but there are some great games happening tomorrow that I’d like to talk about before I find myself deep in Week Two games. Last week was one of the best Week Ones we’ve seen in years, and I’m hoping that this week is just as good, if not better.
Before we get into the games, let’s look at the Top 10 list for this week:

Alabama

Pay Cut for UCLA Coaches and AD?

California is mandating salary cuts for state employees, but certain people were exempt from such drops in pay because they have multi-year contracts. UCLA’s athletic director Dan Guerrero, football coach Rich Neuheisel, and basketball coach Ben Howland were all those not affected by the cuts – but all three are volunteering to accept lower salaries to help out the state.
The exact amount their paychecks will drop is still being negotiated, but the men will forfeit up to 10% of their salaries for the year. Neuheisel makes $1.25, plus up to $500,000 in bonuses annually, while Howland’s salary plus incentives for …read more
