The fact that GameStop is putting a trade-in premium on the PS2 systems just goes to show you that the system is still in high demand – it’s one of my personal favorites.

Toys “R” Us has the Wii listed at $199.99 so after you trade in two game that you paid $60 a piece for new I’m not quite sure how good of a deal this is. BUT, if you have a PS2 hanging around in your house that you never use anymore and maybe you’ve beaten one of the games on the list then you really have nothing to lose by trading them in, putting some cash with it and getting a new system out of the whole thing.

Wii for $149.99 at GameStop

Actually, there are eight sneak peaks but four of them are VIP and four are for everyone else and the everyone else part is what you’re interested in.

Each event will be held in a movie theater and in addition to getting to see the demo on a HUGE screen, there’s also promises of gift bags, a raffle entry and a Multiplayer Tournament which gives you the chance to win the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Fortune Hunter Edition.

Exclusive Sneak Peek of Uncharted 2

Hello? Mr. Obvious, it’s Amy. How are you?

Maybe it’s just me but for as long as I can remember, if I did something without being asked {whether that be cleaning my room or playing a video game} then I always got more enjoyment out of it than if I was asked/told to do the same task. I’m not sure if it’s just me being a contrary type person or what but this seems to translate into my work life as well.

Even if I weren’t getting paid to write about video games, I’d still be playing them. But, when I remember that I AM getting paid for writing about games, well, it begins to feel like a chore. And then, I realize that I sound like a big ole whiny baby and I suck it up and write something like this where I bitch about bitching.

I honestly believe that part of my problem isn’t necessarily the job {which I love} it’s the uninspiring fare that I’ve had to sample recently.

I’m holding out some hope for BioShock 2, Borderlands, Heavy Rain, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Heck, I might even go back to playing casual games for a while; they’re good for taking your mind off of things for a while…and they’re pretty damn addictive.

Work Makes Gaming Feel Like…Well…Work

Yup.

No single player demo for you. Or me for that matter. While I understand Naughty Dog’s and Sony’s desire to show off Uncharted 2’s new multiplayer capabilities, the thing that made the first Uncharted so cool was the story.

A story that, though rather linear and movie like, was pretty damn engrossing and is what makes Uncharted 2 a game that I would like to play. However, I can’t say that I’m thrilled by the fact that a demo of the single player version isn’t being released.

Now that I think about it, Naughty Dog might not want players to jump into the single player story in the middle somewhere and have then have to worry about the story be ruined for the player.

Then again, maybe they’re just being mean.

I don’t know Naughty Dog’s and Sony’s reasoning but in the end, I guess it doesn’t really matter. There will still be plenty of people who will clamor for the multiplayer demo and that should make Naughty Dog very, very happy.

Multiplayer Demo for Uncharted 2…

If you’re a fan of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune (and let’s face it, who isn’t), today is a great day as a sequel has officially been revealed. Unfortunately, to get an early glimpse of the game you will have to brave through the always terrible Spike Video Game Awards. Anyways, on to the headlines:

• Naughty Dog has finally revealed the sequel to Uncharted, with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Check out the January issue of Game Informer for more details.
• If you can’t wait for Kratos’ next adventure, be sure to tune into the Spike Video Game Awards, where you’ll be able to get a sneak peek at God of War III.
• Yakuza 3 will be getting the bundle treatment in Japan, as it will be paired alongside a ceramic white PS3.
• The PS3 is getting yet another firmware update. The latest one should fix some of the issues the web browser has dealing with flash based video, including the addition of full-screen support.
• Resistance 2 isn’t doing so well in the UK. In fact, the game has sold less than its predecessor so far.
