Coaches Poll Predicts Florida as #1

Florida dominated the USA Today Coaches’ Poll, earning 53 of 59 first-place votes. That’s no surprise, since golden boy Tim Tebow is back for one more year with the school. Here’s the rest of the top ten:
Florida
Texas
Oklahoma
USC
Alabama
Ohio State
Virginia Tech
Penn State
LSU
Mississippi
Texas received four first-place votes, and Oklahoma and USC each had one first-place vote. We’re going to see match-ups between many of these top ten teams, but by then, we could see some of these schools fall from grace. Are there any surprised coming from down below? Is this Notre Dame’s year? What about Oklahoma State or Utah?

Final Coach Ballots to be Confidential

The American Football Coaches Association is making a number of changes to the USA Today coaches’ poll, which factors into the BCS formula. At the top of the list is the confidentiality rules. Coaches will no longer be required to reveal their votes on the final regular-season ballots.
Before 2005, coaches could keep their votes confidential, but the BCS pushed for the rule change after 2004, when the Rose Bowl bid was questionable. The coaches voted to reveal their final regular-season votes, which have been printed in USA Today.
