Pedro Martinez to Start Game 2 for Phillies

After winning Game 1 of their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Philadelphia Phillies will send Pedro Martinez to the mound in Game 2. Martinez, who began his career with the Dodgers, will be pitching for the first time in the month of October.
In the regular season, the 37-year-old native of the Dominican Republic was 5-1 with a 3.63 ERA. After staying out of baseball for the beginning of the 2009 campaign, he eventually signed with the Phillies and pitched in nine games.

Dodgers Win 5-1, Sweep Cardinals

The Los Angeles Dodgers were dominant early in the 2009 baseball season. That domination seems to be returning. By defeating the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 on Saturday, the Dodgers completed a three-game sweep of the Cardinals.
The Dodgers had many stars on the night. Manny Ramirez was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Andre Ethier was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Starting pitcher Vicente Padilla pitched seven innings and gave up four hits and one walk while striking out four.
