Sierra Club: Big Money Behind Dirty Coal

The Sierra Club recently launched a campaign about the big money behind dirty coal. The focus of the campaign is a video asking JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to live up to his promise about doing “everything to do the right thing.”
While Dimon said we needed a good policy on energy and the environment, JPMorgan Chase has continued to underwrite what the Sierra Club considers some of the dirtiest companies and riskiest coal projects. Some of these projects include:

Ancestry.com Launches “My Story” Campaign

On Monday, Ancestry.com launched a new marketing campaign that will showcase the stories of five Americans who have used the website to make amazing discoveries about their family history. The “My Story” campaign aims to inspire people to dig into their own heritage using Ancestry.com.
Running for at least the next year, the campaign features five 15-, 30- and 60-second TV spots that showcase the heartwarming stories. The TV commercials will appear on AMC, CNN, Fox News, History Channel, Lifetime Movie Network, Hallmark and other cable networks.

Social marketing agency Mr Youth and Liam Sullivan (YouTube star of Kelly “Shoes” fame) have teamed up to create a video campaign for Marshalls’ in-store boutique, The CUBE. The new video been viewed almost 100,000 times since launching on Monday. It’s called “What R U Guys Talking About?” and tells the story of Kelly before she developed into the fashion icon she proves to be in “Shoes.”
As a youngster, Kelly became tired of wearing her mother’s handmade sweaters, so she voyages out to the mall in search of a style of her own.

Expect to see a lot more of Pup-Peroni in the advertising world over the next few months. Del Monte Foods, the parent company of the Pup-Peroni dog snacks label, is beginning an advertising campaign that will have an assortment of 15- and 30-second television commercials broadcast around the country. Additionally, the Pupperoni.com website has undergone a facelift and is now packed with interesting features.

Up-and-coming artists and independent filmmakers can now hook up to create $99 Music Videos. This past week, Next New Networks (founded by MTV’s first creative director, Fred Seibert) and Verizon FiOS debuted this new innovative website.
The $99 Music Videos Network will feature one new music video and one “Making of” video each week. The videos will be distributed through YouTube and iTunes. $99 Music Videos connects the filmmakers with emerging bands to create original music videos for just $99.
