Until recently, Blu-ray players have been unaffordable by most middle-class and lower-class consumers. But we’ve seen them dropping to the $150-$200 range of late, and now that Black Friday ads are busting out all over, it looks like the day-after-Thanksgiving is going to be most consumers’ best opportunity to jump on the Blu-ray bandwagon, with prices dropping as low as $100 and even lower. Which ones offer the best value? These are my three picks, but read carefully…
Costco is offering Vizio’s VBR110 Blu-ray player for $99 on Black Friday. It’s important to note that the VBR110 is considered an “entry …read more

If you’ve been wrestling with the should-I-or-shouldn’t-I? debate of upgrading the ol’ DVD player to a Blu-Ray player, Walmart has reportedly made your decision an eentsy bit easier. Good? Bad? There’s no telling.
Some will argue that this is just another way for Walmart to beat out the little man and monopolize yet another market. I have witnessed two small “mom and pop” video game stores go under due to Game Stop rolling in to town.
What happens now that Walmart is introducing 77 game trade-in kiosks across the Northeast?
It’s easy to damn Walmart for being a “big box” store and making so much freakin’ money but if there’s a need …read more
Netflix and Walmart Under Fire

A lawsuit against Walmart and Netflix was filed in California saying that consumers were hurt because of their monopoly agreement where Walmart removed their DVD rentals and redirected everything to Netflix. Netflix on the other hand, promoted Walmart sending buyers to their site.
This monopolistic partnership has prompted Blockbuster to raise their subscription price to keep at par with Netflix. In the end, consumers were the losers which led to the lawsuit.
Netflix and Walmart could easily lower their prices as they help each other out and I don’t see any reason why they have to increase their prices which led Blockbuster …read more
