Warrick Dunn is currently a free agent and it appears as if he’s not ready to call it a career. One team that makes sense as a destination for Dunn is the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brian Westbrook is Philadelphia’s starter at running back but he’s had a couple of offseason surgeries and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be 100% for the season opener. Westbrook is a great running back however he will always be injury-prone.

Brian Westbrook is Philadelphia’s starter at running back but he’s had a couple of offseason surgeries and there’s no guarantee that he’ll be 100% for the season opener. Westbrook is a great running back however he will always be injury-prone.

Backing up Westbrook is LeSean McCoy. He’s a rookie who seems to have a bright future but if Westbrook’s status is in doubt, the Eagles will want more than just a rookie as insurance.

Enter Warrick Dunn.

Last season, Dunn played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and had a relatively god season. He rushed for 786 yards and averaged 4.2 yards per rush. Even though he’s 34-years-old, he remains a crafty runner who is hard to hit.

In his career, Dunn has rushed for more than 10,000 yards with the Buccaneers and the Atlanta Falcons.

- The Steelers lock up Ben Roethlisberger for 8 years, $102 million extension. Now only the Pittsburgh equipment manager will ever have to deal with his unwieldy last name.
- The Atlanta Falcons release Warrick Dunn after signing Michael Turner. This should fix everything. (Also, I’d like to note, I think Michael Turner was the third most important running back on the Chargers last year.)

- Tampa Bay continues to build on their stable of mediocre NFL quarterbacks by adding Brian Griese.

- Mewelde Moore escapes the crowded Minnesota backfield, good for him.

- The Tennessee Titans sign possibly the greatest player ever named after that gunk in your fish tank, Alge Crumpler.
