LeBron James Injury Update on Dunk Mishap

LeBron James injured his left wrist on Wednesday night during the 108-91 loss the Cleveland Cavaliers suffered against the Washington Wizards. However, Cavs fans can rest easy because the injury isn’t believed to be serious. And really, a lot of us would gladly suffer a similar injury.
How did LeBron get injured?
By dunking it too hard. Yeah, the Average Joe isn’t going to shed a tear.
Explained LeBron: “I hit it pretty bad on the rim. It’s like you hit your funny bone, but it’s not funny at all.”
LeBron finished the game with 34 points, nine assists, two rebounds, two steals and …read more

Antawn Jamison Injury Update – Shoulder

Antawn Jamison isn’t starting off the 2009-10 NBA season on the right foot — or shoulder, in this case. Due to a shoulder injury, Jamison will be out up to five weeks. He injured the season during preseason when he tried to block a shot on October 14th.
The Wizards, who have battled injury woes the last few years, were expected to be one of the most improved teams in the NBA. Without Jamison, that will be much more difficult. They’ll need to keep their boat above water while he’s out to remain in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Last season, Jamison …read more

Gilbert Arenas Injury Update – Finger

Health has been a problem for Gilbert Arenas in the last few years. The point guard for the Washington Wizards has played only 15 games over the last two seasons due to a multiple knee surgeries. Unfortunately, Arenas is hurt again.
Late in the offseason, Arenas injured his middle finger — later diagnosed as a dislocation. This week during Wizards training camp, he aggravated the finger injury. As a result, he was forced to sit out scrimmages.
The good news is that the Wizards believe Arenas should be back on the court soon. Additionally, all reports indicate that the 27-year-old appears to …read more

Sam Cassell Retires, Joins Wizards Staff

After being a late first round pick in the 1993 NBA Draft, not much was expected out of Sam Cassell. But the point guard out of Florida State with the massive amount of confidence more than made a name for himself. Cassell had a great career — but now it’s over.
On Thursday, Cassell retired from the NBA and took a job with the Washington Wizards to become an assistant coach. The Wizards also hired Randy Wittman on Thursday as an assistant coach. Both Cassell and Wittman will be on new head coach Flip Saunders staff.
Over the years, Cassell has made …read more

The Washington Wizards now know who their head coach will be for the 2009-10 NBA season. Even though this season hasn’t ended yet, multiple sources are confirming that Flip Saunders has agreed to a contract that will make him the next coach for the Wizards.
Saunders will reportedly sign a deal that will pay him an estimated $18 million over the next four years. Expect the hiring to become official shortly after the season comes to an end on Wednesday. Currently, the Wizards are being coached by Ed Tapscott. Tapscott will likely return to his position within Washington’s front office.

Gilbert Arenas Returns for the Wizards

Gilbert Arenas, who not too long ago was regarded as one of the best point guards in the NBA, played his first game of the season on Saturday night. The 27-year-old fan favorite for the Washington Wizards scored 15 points and dished out ten assists in his 2008-09 debut.
Not surprisingly, the 17-57 Wizards lost the game. However, the return of Arenas gave the team a chance. With the Detroit Pistons up by two points with under ten seconds to go in the contest, Arenas lined up a three-pointer for the win. A triumphant return wasn’t meant to be as ex-Wizards …read more

Five Worst Teams in the NBA in 2008

Minnesota Timberwolves
Will the T’Wolves ever recover from trading away Kevin Garnett? It doesn’t look like it. This might be the first team in sporting history that will have to be shut down just for failure to get over a trade.
Memphis Grizzlies
After the collusion trade that sent Pau Gasol to the Lakers, the Grizzlies have gone from a team who had playoff hopes to a team that is a few years away from threatening .500. The Grizz have good young talent but they are more like a really good college team rather than an NBA team.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards fired Eddie Jordan …read more

Gilbert Arenas – Barack Obama Tattoo

Gilbert Arenas has always been a little bit nutty. Combine that with a bunch of free time due to his various knee surgeries and we get the greatness that was recently revealed. Gilbert Arenas got a tattoo on his left hand to honor Barack Obama, the President-Elect of the United States of America.
According to a report out of Washington, the tattoo says “Change We Believe In” and is spread across the four fingers on his left hand. He also had the number 44 added to his pinkie, apparently to honor the fact that Obama will become the 44th President of …read more
