Cleveland (State) Rocks!

What’s gotten into Cleveland?
First, Cleveland State punches it’s ticket to the Big Dance by punching Associated Press number 16 ranked Butler in the face 57-54 for the Horizon League tournament championship. Cleveland State (25-10) is dancing for the first time in 23 years.
Now the question is, will the selection committee take two teams from the Horizon League to the Big Dance?
I’m also watching the Cleveland Cavaliers lose to the Clippers right now. It’s late in the first half, and I’m sure once the second half gets underway, LeBron James will restore order.

Loyola Marymount is the number one worst team in the nation in the first Bottom 10 poll

Here’s the first poll of the ten worst teams in the nation.
The Bottom 10 is based on, of course, records and the ability to stink where no other teams can.
Loyola Marymount of Los Angeles debuts as the stinkiest team in the nation.
The Lions (1-23, 0-8) are from the West Coast Conference, and it’s only win was a 72-69 “victory” against another stinky team, Cal State Bakersfield on January 4.

Preseason Injury Report

The start of official practice for college basketball is about a week and already there are a number of players from top schools that will miss some practices and could start the season on the bench due to injuries.
Reports have come out of North Carolina that senior swingman Marcus Ginyard had surgery to repair a stress fracture and is scheduled to miss eight weeks. Ginyard started every game for the Tar Heels last season leading them to the Final Four averaging 6.9 points and 4.5 rebounds a game.
