“Well, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be doing it,” she said. “I’m very, very excited about doing it. It’s an action film, so I’m really excited to work him.”

At the premiere of her new movie, My Sister’s Keeper, actress Cameron Diaz talked to Usmagazine.com about working with Tom Cruise again. The pair have signed on for the upcoming film, Wichita, which is about “an undercover agent who meets a woman who’s had nothing but bad luck with men.”

“Well, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t be doing it,” she said. “I’m very, very excited about doing it. It’s an action film, so I’m really excited to work him.”

If you remember, Cruise and Diaz worked together (along with Penelope Cruz) on the film Vanilla Sky. I can’t even explain how much I hated that movie so I’m hoping this new project works out better that one did.

Diaz got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this past Monday and Tom Cruise, along with his wife, Katie Holmes, showed up to help celebrate the momentous occasion. “I was really happy to see them,” Diaz said. “They were wonderful. It was fantastic. It was so lovely of them to come out and show support. My whole family was there and my friends were there. And I consider them that as well. So it was really wonderful to have them there.”

Variety is reporting that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are in talks to star in the “untitled romantic comedy formerly known as Wichita and Trouble Man at 20th Century Fox.” So far, the film is set in terms of production and writing but it still needs a little work and, of course, star power.Originally, Chris Tucker and Eva Mendes were tied to the project but, for whatever reason, things didn’t work out.

The storyline sounds perfect for Diaz and Cruise – it “revolves around a woman who has terrible luck with men (isn’t that Diaz’s signature role?) but finds her path intertwined with that of a mysterious handsome man (before all the controversy, wasn’t Cruise the go-to handsome guy?) she meets on a blind date.”

Tom Cruise could really use a good movie to get his career back on track and I guess the same could be said about Cameron Diaz for different reasons. I only see one problem with this pairing and it’s a pretty significant one – Vanilla Sky(2001). I’m sorry but that was an absolutely horrible movie and they really did not work well in it at all. Hopefully, it was just the awkwardness of having Penelope Cruz involved at the time and, without a third wheel, they can make this a good movie. Nothing is official yet, but I think it could work.
