Land of the Lost was released on DVD and Blu-ray earlier this week and, although it didn’t get the best ratings, I think it looks decent enough for a few laugh over the weekend.
The film stars Will Ferrell anhd Dr. Rick Marshall, a scientist who, along with his research assistant (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist () end up going back to a time when dinosaurs roam free. With no weapons, minimal skills and even less common sense these three have to find a way to make it out of this adventure alive.
Since it stars Will Ferrell, you can pretty …read more
Ferrell Leaves “Neighborhood Watch”

Will Ferrell has opted to leave 20th Century Fox’s upcoming film Neighborhood Watch along with director, David Dobkin. I’m not completely sure what happened (Variety mentions that Dobkins had recently submitted revisions) but I’m guessing it has to do with creative differences.
I know that Dobkins had a with with Wedding Crashers but I think that was partly good timing, good casting and the fact that many of us enjoy a raunchy comedy. His most recent work, Fred Claus, certainly didn’t earn him any accolades…
I’m also not completely thrilled with how this plot sounds. Here’s the description: “an urbanites moves to …read more
Now in Theaters: “Land of the Lost”

Land of the Lost opens in theaters nationwide today and I think that the advertising has been effective enough to secure a weekend box-office victory.
In the movie, which is based on the classic television show, Will Ferrell is a has-been scientist (Dr. Rick Marshall) who gets sucked into some sort of space-time vortex along with his research assistant and a redneck survivalist.
I can only imagine how over-the-top the physical comedy will be in this film but I’m definitely going to try to see it this weekend (watch the Land of the Lost trailer now!). You can also check out the …read more
Will Ferrell Hosts Saturday Night Live

Former cast member, Will Ferrell, hosted Saturday Night Live last night and, as you might expect, it was pretty hilarious. I think the best part was that he reprised many of his most famous characters.
He put the moustache and suit back on for Celebrity Jeopardy where Tom Hanks just suddenly appeared on the show as one of the contestants (he was up against Kathie Lee Gifford and, of course, Sean Connery). There was a surprise addition to the skit a little later.
Ferrell also resurrected his parodies of George W Bush (who had a “moment” with Dick Cheney) and the ever-popular …read more
New “Land of the Lost” Trailer and Pictures

A new trailer and production stills for the upcoming Land of the Lost have been released and it looks pretty funny. Starring Will Ferrell as a has-been scientist, the film seeks to breathe new life in to the classic television series.
With taglines like “the world’s greatest scientists agree…Dr. Rick Marshall is completely nuts” and catchphrases like “Matt Lauer can suck it!” you know that it’s going to be a typical Will Ferrell movie but I hope it doesn’t end up like Bewitched (another TV series turned film starring Ferrell that just fell flat, in my opinion).
The plot revolves around …read more
Kevin Lepage’s Putzy, Pricey Talledega Pile-Up

Sure, Tony Stewart snagged his first victory at Talladega Superspeedway yesterday, but Kevin Lepage’s NASCAR no-no (16-car crash with over $3M in damages) hit the headlines, too.
Lepage’s boo-boo—zipping ahead of the pack straight off pit—sent Carl Edwards flipping (not, um, backflipping) and threw off 15 other drivers who, we’re guessing, used some colorful adjectives to describe Lepage yesterday. The race came to a halt for 25 minutes. Apparently, not to mention inexplicably, Lepage failed to take responsibility for the crash. (Thanks to devoted reader Pat for sending this!)
By the way, are we the only ones who still think of Will Ferrell’s Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky …read more
