But it’s clear that the Indiana Fever aren’t intimidated, not in the least. You can feel the tension and anticipation in the air … this is what the WNBA Finals are made of. Indiana Fever Win Game 2

The Indiana Fever evened the WNBA Finals on Thursday night with an impressive win against the Phoenix Mercury. Even though Phoenix had the advantage of playing on their own home court, the Fever shut down Diana Taurasi and Cappie Pondexter.
Penny Taylor kept Phoenix in the game, as both Taurasi and Pondexter struggled with their shooting. But once she went out in the third quarter with an injury to her lip, Indiana ran away with game.

Tuesday Was Diana Taurasi’s Day To Shine

I know I’ve been posting a lot about Diana Taurasi lately, but she’s the hot topic in women’s basketball. On Tuesday, Taurasi was awarded the WNBA MVP during press conference before the first game of the WNBA Finals between the Phoenix Mercury and the Indiana Fever.
The award came as no surprise to players, coaches, fans and certainly, Taurasi herself. She is the league’s leading scorer and the best all-around talent. I’d go as far to say that she is the world’s best women’s basketball player.

Lindsay Whalen Reaches 900 Assists

Lindsay Whalen scored 11 points and dished out seven assists last night as the Connecticut Sun toppe the Seattle Storm 64-53.
Connecticut is 12-10 for the season, while Whalen is 900 for career assists. She is the 12th player WNBA history to the 900 benchmark.
Whalen is one of the primier points guards in the WNBA. In her rookie season, she was selected to play in the historic WNBA vs. USA Basketball game held at Radio City Music Hall. She also led Connecticut to the WNBA Finals that same year.
