I know I’ve been posting a lot about Diana Taurasi lately, but she’s the hot topic in women’s basketball. On Tuesday, Taurasi was awarded the WNBA MVP during press conference before the first game of the WNBA Finals between the Phoenix Mercury and the Indiana Fever.
The award came as no surprise to players, coaches, fans and certainly, Taurasi herself. She is the league’s leading scorer and the best all-around talent. I’d go as far to say that she is the world’s best women’s basketball player.

During the second game of the WNBA Finals, you are going to see the 2008 MVP walk out onto the court and accept the award. Oh, I should also mention that she’s Rookie of the Year as well.
It’s not surprising in the least to Candace Parker receive these distinguished honors. She was the number one draft pick out of Tennessee and averaged 18.5 points, 52.3 percent shooting from the field, 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots on the season.
