Have you ever found yourself saying those words to someone over and over, trying to convince them that you do REALLY work? I love the post Mary Emma made at her site about how our perception as work-at-home moms is crucial to our success. Perception is everything. I have been a work-at-home mother for over ten years now and I still have to convice my girlfriends that I cannot have coffee with them…twice a week! Sure, I love the flexibility of the work-at-home life, being able to create my own schedule, being able to work my schedule around my kid’s lives and just generally being my own boss. But even with this wonderful freedom comes responsibility. We can’t make our work look like a hobby.

Take a look at the list of things Mary Emma suggests to use as a guide for the work-at-home mom. Can you take one, two or even three of those suggestions and incorporate them into your business life? Give it a try!

What are some of the challenges you face as a business woman? Are you taken seriously? Are you getting good clients, good business? Are you settling? I would love to know what your challenges are as a woman in the business world or a work-at-home mom.
