FullTilt Poker Gets A Major Facelift

FullTilt Poker has changed the face of it’s operations. Once sporting a more centralized theme template with a green background, FullTilt now boasts a black and gray, glossy Web 2.0 feel on it’s homepage.
FullTilt’s two headliners grace the cover with the nod going to Chris Ferguson at center stage. Ferguson is staring right in your face as you open up the page. The other primary FullTilt star, Phil Ivey is surprisingly off to the side, his face surfacing through a video waiting to be played. The classic casino red and white colors come into play just below Chris Ferguson where …read more
Charles Barkley in WSOP

I’ve seen Toby McGuire, Sully Erna, Ray Ramona, whoever the guy is that plays Ray’s brother, Montel Williams, Norm McDonald, Shannon Elizabeth, Bobby Bonilla, Ben Affleck, Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, and a host of other celebrities and psuedo celebrities on ESPN’s coverage of the World Series of Poker, but never Charles Barkley. This is surprising as Barkley is one of the most likable and quotable figures around. Did he get coverage when I wasn’t paying attention?
WSOP 2009 Format

Count me as a strong opponent to how this year’s WSOP played out.
I get it. I really do. This was a marketing, money making manuever to increase exposure and advertising dollars. I can’t fault the executives for pushing this end, but that doesn’t mean I liked how it went down.
The WSOP is the ultimate poker endurance challenge, the marathon of all marathons, and now when you make it to the terrific ten, there’s a four month wait before you play out the field? I think this goes to far away from the game. The game is supposed to retain its …read more
Last WSOP Before Final Table
The last WSOP Broadcast before the final table airs in Novemeber has now gone done, and the final table is set, in case you hadn’t seen it yet.
Here’s part one, the other parts are available on the same site:
Sad way to go out for the 10th guy, shouldn’t be pushing AJ under the gun, duh.
John Juanda Wins WSOP-E
Congrats to John Juanda, who just won the WSOP-E main event, proving that pros still can win major titles in the post-apocalyptic shootout land that is ‘everybody plays poker.’
He overcame a pretty sickly dense tables of others to win the 868k+ euro first prize.
Here’s the others on the table:
Seat 1: Robin Keston — 849,000
Seat 2: Daniel Negreanu — 1,002,000
Seat 3: Chris Elliott — 281,000
Seat 4: Bengt Sonnert — 385,000
Seat 5: John Juanda — 1,349,000
Seat 6: Ivan Demidov — 1,006,000
Seat 7: Toni Hiltunen — 386,000
Seat 8: Scott Fischman — 732,000

And here he is pre-victory, discussing his …read more
Scotty Nguyen Tirade & Apology
If you didn’t hear about Scotty Nguyen kind of freaking out during the $50k HORSE poker tournament, just check out the bomb blast of comment there on that blog thread.
Or you can just watch the ugliness right here:
Being a child toward Erick Lindgren?
I know these kinds of guys in home games. They don’t get invited back. So drunk of his own aura, he might even look worse than Hellmuth here.
This week Scotty offered a public apology:
I don’t know, the way they talk around him, it almost seems like Scotty is in special classes or something, like he has to be …read more
WSOP Main Event on ESPN Begins Tonight
The first segment of day one at the main event of the 2008 WSOP will air tonight on ESPN at 8 PM eastern time. Like last year, the initial field was so huge that they split the group into 4 segments.
I am happy about the broadcast tonight as it pretty much bodes that there has to be less than just a bunch of all-in shoves.
Let’s get to watchin’.
WSOP ESPN Broadcasts
If you’ve missed any of the latest WSOP ESPN Broadcasts, including the recent $10,000 Omaha bracelet event with the Grinder, etc., you can pretty much find all of them available to view online, uploaded at Pokertube.com.
Here’s that Omaha event, part 1, and the other 3 parts follow after on the site.
Enjoy!
Phil Hellmuth Penalty at 2008 WSOP Main Event
Ever wonder what Phil Hellmuth looks like whining off ESPN camera?
Yeah, me neither. But here’s a video of the Poker Whiner getting slapped with a cursing penalty at the 2008 WSOP Main Event:
Still a stupid rule, but it’s nice to see it stuck on PH.
$10000 Omaha and $1500 Horse ESPN Events
Tonight reairs the dual showing of Michael Mizrachi’s attempt at a $ 10,000 WSOP Omaha bracelet and Phil Hellmuth’s run at a 12th bracelet in the $1500 HORSE event. It’s a bit better viewing than the other broadcasts have been but still stuck mostly on all-in races.
As annoying as Phil is, he pretty much keeps showing down the big hands in the event and continues to prove why he is know as the best, even if at the same time he’s ridiculously overblown in the head.
The guy with the alligator hat, is that really how you want to be remembered? …read more
