Lisandro Wins 2nd Bracelet

Apparently good things come in twos in the 2009 WSOP. First Phil Ivey got two. Then Brock Parker took center stage. Now Jeffrey Lisandro has won his second bracelet and third overall. In his latest win, Lisandro whiddled down a 4-1 chip deficit against Farzad Rouhani after four hours of heads-up play to win it all. The field was 164 players. His first win came in the $1,500 7-card Stud event.

J.C. Train: Sacramento Pro Steams to Win

We have a new $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha Champ and his name is J.C. Tran. Tran entered the final table in fourth place but emerged as the champ in WSOP Event #30 by personally eliminating 5 of his last 8 opponents. (You got to love it when you’re the one narrowing the field). For the win, Tran takes home a nifty $235,685. He also broke into the multiple bracelet club. Overheard tonight on the 2007 WSOP Main event, from an amateur and rather rugged-looked long-haired player late in the game after getting busted in a huge pot by Scotty Nguyen:
“Gitchee another bracelet.”
Only in poker or trailer park honeymoons does it come out quite like that.
Erick Lindgren Wins His 1st WSOP Bracelet
Erick Lindgren has probably been at the top of the list of pros who hadn’t won a bracelet yet who needed to for a while now. Anytime he got into an interview about it you could tell it was driving him insane. He’d done too much in poker not to do the big one.
Now he has.
Taking down the title in event #4 of this year’s World Series of Poker, a mixed hold em event, where in the end he played heads up against Justin Bonomo.
