Wrestlers are big men – they have to be to weigh in at certain classes. That weight has to be a stress on the body, no matter how fit they are. Much like the defensive linemen in football, their weight may lead to health problems.

Eki Fatu isn’t the first professional wrestler to die before the age of 40 years. According to a Yahoo News piece, here are some of the young deaths over the past 10 years:

• Chris Benoit, 40, 2007, committed suicide iafter murdering his wife, Nancy, and son Daniel
• Eddie Guerrero, 38, 2005, died of a heart attack
• Owen Hart, 33, 1999, died in Kansas City after a stunt went wrong during a live television shoot
• Andrew “Test” Martin, 34, 2009, died after an Oxycontin overdose

Fatu had violated drug policy a few years ago, while part of the WWE and in 2007, he refused to undergo drug rehab. Often, when an athlete dies young, drugs are one of the suspected causes, although this hasn’t been claimed as yet.

Wrestler Eki “Umaga” Fatu Dies

She said she is going to chase this man down and find out if he’s married or single. She also made it clear she wouldn’t mind taking his hand in marriage! (Are you groaning yet? Wait, it gets worse.)

So then MVP apparently is also interested in her (or he’s trying to get ratings) and he invited her to a match on May 1st. She’s going to “get in his corner” (if ya know what I mean – wink wink!).

View Cohost Goes WWE

Last night’s ECW show was taped from Laredo Entertainment Center in Laredo, Texas. I find ECW less and less entertaining every week. Here are the results of last nights show.

Matt Hardy came to the ring and started talking about who he’s going to face at Cyber Sunday. He says he wants Mark Henry (As if we haven’t seen enough of this already). Finlay and Honswoggle comes out and Finlay says he’s going to win the title. Evan Bourne comes out and says that he’s not to be overlooked and then out comes Mark Henry and he talks about match…blah,blah,blah.

Jack Swagger defeated Brett Baterly in a squash match. Afterwards Swagger was interviewed and referred to Tommy Dreamer as "Who?"

John Morrison and The Miz are interviewed. They want votes for Cyber Sunday. (I’m about tired of these two as well)

The Miz gets disqualified in his match against Shad from Cryme Tyme.

A promo for Boogeyman’s return is shown and Hornswoggle goes trick-or-treating to Teddy Long.

Evan Bourne wins the triple threat match against Finlay and Mark Henry wehn Henry gets throw out of the ring and Bourne hits the shooting star on Finlay.

End of show…thanks goodness!

I’m not sure what the doc’s stipulations are on him returning to the ring so soon after having neck surgery, but I just think it’s too soon. John Cena is always a great match and Randy Orton…well, Randy is a bit overdone if you ask me. He’s a great heel but it gets a bit old. How long has he been doing this Legend killer angle now? C’mon, it’s time for a change with this dude.

I’d rather see Cena off for a while so he can heal properly without risking further injury, but I suppose you can’t keep Cena down.

HI, I’m Dolph Ziggler And I’m On A 30 Day Suspension

I’ve never attended a live Pro-Wrestling event. I would prefer to see it from the comfort of my own home and here is a couple of reasons why.

1. The first reason is that I like the fact that you can see everything very well at home instead of getting stuck in some nosebleed seat. I don’t care how big the show screen is, everything is much more clear at home and close up.
2. Other fans and their stupid signs. Sometimes the signs can be funny and entertaining. But if I’m sitting in the stands of worse, on floor seats and there is some fool in front of me with a signs that 4 feet wide I’m going to be upset. Not to mention that I don’t like stupid people and when you get that many people in one place, you’re bound to have at least one very close to you.

To reiterate the second one, Jason Powell over at Prowrestling.net wrote about how the WWE is going overboard when security removing fan’s signs and fans for "sign violations". The signs said stuff like "Urine Sample, Please" when Batista came out (confiscated), "Cup check that chick" for Beth Phoenix (confiscated), and lastly before being asked to leave the building "Butt Clown", a PG rated version of Chris Jericho’s "Ass-Clown" line (Confiscated and then asked to leave the premises). The local police even took the fan’s information and told them not to return. You can read about it here.

Maybe they went overboard by making the fan’s leave and perhaps they should have checked all the fans sings when they took the first one. Honestly though I think signs are stupid. Why? Refer back to reason #2. It started off a long time ago with a few signs here and there. Suddenly every fan thought it was some sort of obligation to bring a big-ass sign that says something stupid like "I love Nachos", "Marry me, Tori" or "I want the Big Show’s Baby". I know it’s nothing new but it’s gone way over the top in the last few years. Signs are plaguing many other pro-sports and even The Today Show on NBC the same way. Poor Al Roker has to weed his way around people in NYC with people holding signs that say where they’re from or "I stood in line for 72 hours just so I could hold this stupid sign up on TV!". It’s stupid, plain and simple. Put down your damn sign and watch the friggin’ show!

Sign, Sign, Everywhere A Sign

Jeff Wilen in his JAWbreaker segment at three8six.com, spoke to Kevin Nash on the phone yesterday afternoon. Nash told Wilen that his contract with TNA runs out on October 10th and that he had been in talk with Vince McMahon.

‘I talked to Vince (McMahon)," Nash said. ‘He offered me a contract, but he wanted me to dye my hair.’

Nash reiterated a TNA Wrestling schedule would be easier on him than a WWE schedule.

Nash had told other reporters in the past week that he wasn’t trying to rush any negotiations and that he had more to lose in the stock market right now than in a new contract.

Kevin Nash’s Status In TNA

Jack Swagger wins over Lenny Lane via Tilt-A-Whirl Powerbomb.

Mike Knox beats Tommy Dreamer after Tommy charges Knox but misses and hits the ring post (You’d think they’d pad them by now, right?) and Knox finished the mathc with his reverse spinner STO.

The Miz, John Henry and John Morrison defeat Matt Hardy, Riocky Ortiz and Evan Bourne by Mark Henry’s "World’s Strongest Slam" on Evan Bourne.

That’s it. A whopping three matches. It’s kind of sad how much talking and how little wrestling goes on in an hour show these days. But that’s the things are now. More drama and less action.

ECW Recap 9/’30

“The time was right for me to make a change, try a new approach and go for some new opportunities. No one respects the WWE more than me. They have created a remarkable brand in business and sports entertainment. I just felt it was time for Ric Flair to go out and try some new things. I was thinking that I need the right person to help me be successful in the next chapter of my life,” Flair said. “And that person is Elaine Gillespie.”

Will we see Flair in TNA? Maybe, maybe not. Rumors will fly and rumors will be shot down. You never really know until you hear it from a credible source.
