The plot revolves around Brave who, now elderly, tells the tale of his adventurous youth when he embarked on an epic journey in an attempt to save his tribe from the evil, Wendigo.  The environment looks great (even if it is a little cartoonish) as he makes his way through forests filled with majestic Redwood trees and braves (no pun intended) the harshness of the raging river and swirling blizzard.  Of course, he will encounter animals in the wild from including evil wolves and buffalo.

Brave faces challenges, bizarre creatures and evil spirits as he navigates his way from his village through nine levels but he is equipped with sticks, a longbow and a tomahawk which can be used to defeat his enemies.  Brave is also able to mimic the animals around him which will allow him to use new skills in order to reach hidden or inaccessible areas.  When energy is low, ancient spells or dream catchers can be used to restore Brave’s health.

If players run into trouble, they can use the “mobile stone” to speak to a Spirit Guide for help and advice.

“Brave: A Warrior’s Tale” on Xbox and Wii

Judging from the following two screenshots, you can choose a “solo massage” or a “couples massage.”

In case you’re wondering, this download got the following ratings by the community: Violence=0/3, Sex=0/3, Mature Content=0/3. Obviously, there shouldn’t be any violence in a massage game but I was wondering if it got sexual (apparently it doesn’t).

Apparently, the controller is used as a massaging device that you can do on your own or with a partner.  You can create your own massages but I see here that the game does provide tips and suggestions for getting creative.

Here is a screenshot that somewhat explains the massage controls.  I am guessing that you can control the intensity of the rumble features on the controller to provide continuous vibrations or pulses.  I haven’t tried this but I plan to download the demo and check it out.

May Downloads for “Lips” Announced

The sequel to Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven will be set in Empire City (a fictional setting based on a mix of San Francisco and New York City) during the 1940s and 1950s.  I’m assuming we can expect some old-school gangster action which I think is a nice change from all the “modern warfare” type games available today.

In the game, players will have a lot of freedom since there are no restrictions and it will feature a completely open-ended game map of 10 square miles.  That’s huge!  The controls seem pretty straight-forward as well.  There were will be two action buttons (one for standard and the other for violent action) but I’m not sure what to expect from the checkpoint system.

Weaponry will range from what was available in the previous game (Thompson M1928, Colt 1911 and a pump action shotgun) but it will also include new WWII-era weapons such as the MP40, M3 Grease Gun and the MG42.

“Mafia II” Xbox 360 Screenshots Released

Anticipating a high demand, the game will be released on PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Wii and PlayStation Portable but there will be differences among the formats.  Most notably, the version released for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC will be the ‘Uncaged Edition” which will contain more violence and blood.

The X-Men Origins: Wolverine plot will be based on the storyline from the movie and the Wolverine backstory.  If you’ve ever seen an X-Men movie or played a game with Wolverine in it, you will know that his primary weapons are his razor sharp claws, feral instincts and mutant regeneration powers.

I plan to download it as soon as it is available since I’ve already heard that the full game is going to be excellent.

If you don’t already own it but loved the first Halo game, you will probably want to pick up a copy.  This strategy game allows you to experience the events leading up to Halo which will give you a much better understanding of the Halo universe.

On Xbox 360: Bionic Commando

Like the film, the game features and incredible cast including the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert and Kiefer Sutherland.  I’m not sure it can get much better than that!

When aliens attack, your team of monsters have to fight back to save the world.  There are a lot of pretty sweet moves you can use to accomplish this.  As the Missing Link, you can “bash, bounce, swing, tail whip, and climb” while B.O.B oozes “through cracks, stick to ceilings, and absorb and spit out enemies as this gooey blob.”  The Ginormica character is 49’ 11” tall and will help you “tower over the landscape, test your strength, and use cars as roller-skates.”

To make it even more fun, a second player can join in for co-op play at any time as Dr. Cockroach Ph.D “the most brilliant scientist in the world.”  Using him, you will be able to “blast apart robots, toss away enemies with the tractor beam, plus grab hard-to-reach upgrades and other rewards.”

The game is rated E10 for Everyone 10+ due to a little cartoon violence and mischief but, depending on your children and family, this could be find for children younger than 10 years of age.  It’s currently priced at $49.99.

Watchmen: The End Is Nigh

Players (you can play as either Rorscach or Nite Owl) must answer the call and save their city from crime, terror and Underboss, who has broken out of prison. 

The action in this superhero-type game is undeniable as you can take on up to 20 enemies at a time using street-fighting moves.  You can also engage in multiplayer, split-screen mode.

This action game was released on March 4, 2009 and has been given a rating of M (Mature) due to blood, strong language and violence.  It currently can be downloaded for 1600 Microsoft points.

Xbox LIVE Arcade Game – “Watchmen: The End is Nigh”

This Xbox LIVE Arcade features the NHL’s top players in a no-holds barred, no rules hockey game.  The players can be giants, they can speed-skate (it’s kind of fun to play with bobble head versions of your favorite NHL stars) and use trick moves like spinning out of the way of an oncoming check. 

Online, play one-on-one or with up to three players a side.  The controls are really easy to figure out so, unlike the more complicated sports games, players from all levels can enjoy the game.

There are three types of players: “Fast players specialize in dangling, Strong players bring extra power to their hits, and All-around players play a solid two-way game of hockey.”

You can also use hard-checking to become a huge presence on the ice.  If you hit a guy just right, you could send him flying across the rink.
