Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned

Last week, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned became available for download on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. I won’t lie, I’m not a big fan of the GTA games but I know they win awards and are seriously popular so there must be something that I’m missing.
Anyway, you can engage in online multiplayer game play with 2-16 players and there’s some cool downloadable content (check out the GTA IV Marketplace page).
To download the game, you’ll need 1600 Microsoft points and 2 GB of free space. In the meantime, watch this cool “Weazel News Special Report” for the …read more

If you’re a fan of racing games, then you might like this. The game Race Pro was released yesterday on the XBox 360 and I’ve got to say, it looks realistic.
You’ll be playing on official FIA championships and tracks with some pretty awesome cars. Some of which can have more than 1000 horse power! You can have all kinds of fun with events such as the World Touring Car Championship, Formula 3000, and Formula BMW.

Merv Griffin’s Crosswords Now on Xbox 360

Merv Griffin passed away in August 2007 but his legacy continues. Jeopardy is my favorite game show of all time and I have him to thank for it (he even wrote that iconic jingle that is used as both the theme song and the final Jeopardy music).
Now, he’s on my Xbox 360 with the new game Merv Griffin’s Crosswords which comes out today! Apparently, it “combines over a thousand unique and challenging crossword puzzles with fast-paced game show action in an incredibly entertaining game for the whole family.” That sounds like a lot of fun. My daughter and I …read more
Afro Samurai Coming Soon on Xbox 360

The Afro Samurai video game is based on the Japanese manga series starring Samuel L. Jackson. I’ve seen the show on Spike TV but it’s just never appealed to me, to be honest. I’m not sure I would be a fan of the video game either but I have to admit that the trailer looks interesting.
I love how they captured the animation/drawing style of the original show. I don’t know if Sam Jackson will be lending his voice to the game’s main character but it would be cool if he did.
Wii Continues to Outsell Xbox 360

The Nintendo Wii is outselling the Xbox 360 by more than double despite Microsoft’s excellent performance on Black Friday. The Wii shipment numbers totaled a whopping 2.04 million in November while only 836,000 Xbox 360 consoles were shipped in November. The Playstation 3 was basically dead in the water with less than 400,000 units shipped.
I own both a Wii and an Xbox 360 and I have to say that I’m pretty shocked that these two aren’t closer in sales. I know that the Wii is more innovative to users since it uses those sensor remotes and it also appeals …read more
Electronic Arts To Cut Staff By 10% Next Year

The gaming world are not immune to the pressures of the recession. Electronic Arts slashed 10% of its’ work force (1,000 jobs) which is an additional 4% from the 6% job loss they projected back in October.
In the wake of these developments, the company has decided to put their focus on creating and improving hit games. I know they have had some real success with NHL 09 which recently won the “Best Team Sports Game” prize at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards so hopefully, next year’s sports games are just as impressive.
